Rhian Brewster - Liverpool

Still think we need a midfielder over Brewster but hey if he scores goals I don't care. I just don't think he's going to get the service. Being pacey he'll have a better chance than Borja or Surridge would.

Probably not, but Brewster is like Ayew, he can create something on his own. And if he starts scoring it will lift the whole team to another level. Celina, Byers and Roberts have to up their game, we need Rodon and Mike back from injuries, we need one physically strong central midfielder (like Fer, but more mobile) and we need a LEFT-F******- BACK.

Agreed, I heard Neil Taylor is available. :geek:

Let's not get carried away with Brewster, when pool put out a team of reserves against Everton he was on the bench!

He was only on the pitch for a short time but failed to get involved , I don't think he touched the ball.
Let's hope that like Borini before him ( who also came on loan with no first team experience or goals ) he can make a difference to our front line options .
Let's get him on the pitch and then we can judge him for better or worse , until then he is a young JB in the making.

He had an injury in December and was not fully match fit. Of course we shouldn't be carried away with him, but our own youngsters have proven that a step up from U23 to the Championship is possible. If James, Rodon, Cabango, Byers, Dhanda can do it, so can a Liverpool youngster who is highly rated by Klopp.

Good question.
Was Abraham better than McB? And for example ... Courtney Baker-Richardson is now at Accrington, where he played two games last August. His he injured or just not up to it? He looked as good as McB when he played those games for us a season back.

Baker Richardson is shit but he's been injured since August. He's still awful though.

I think CBR was scoring a goal every other game for us. He didn't get much opportunity; but when he had it he never let us down.

Judging by how many minutes they need to score a goal, Abraham is a better striker than Oli.

In the last two seasons Oli needed 169 minutes to score a goal, Abraham 132 minutes. On the other hand, Abraham plays for a better team, he has more chances to score from.

Season 2018/19

Championship:

Abraham 26 goals
McBurnie 22 goals

Season 2019/20

Premier League:

Abraham 12 goals
McBurnie 3 goals

I've just calculated how many shots they need per goal, and Oli is superior to Abraham.

Abraham needs 4.55 shots per goal, and Oli only 3.3. Oli is more effective.

I'm not posting the link because it's WOL. I've seen other rumours but this is the first time I've seen reports that Swansea is actually talking to Liverpool about Rhian Brewster. 19 year old striker, what we need are goals perfect match.

Steve Cooper has managed Brewster before with England U17s.
Recent successful Premier League players Daniel James and Tammy Abraham came out of Swansea to make their mark.

If Swansea is serious about taking on another loan Borja or Ayew is likely gone. If Surridge is called back to Bournemouth there will be more minutes for Rhian. But Liverpool wants to get him to start matches. Does this also mean Cooper is staying on as manager?

Plenty of teams are interested in Rhian, Blackburn Rovers are a likely landing spot. Other European leagues are interested, Bundesliga for one. He's got a nice shot.

I fail to see that Cooper had any influence in Brewsters arrival, I would have thought any game time would have been arranged via Birch and Britton. Cooper can claim nothing regarding James's success at the academy. Abrahams academy days were over when he came to us, he graduated at the Chelsea academy then went on loan to Bristol before coming to us then went on loan to Villa afterwards. Shouldn't think Coopers going or staying will have any bearing on Brewsters time with us.
