When Biden was benched, a plan fomented in mid-2023 as I understand it and finally executed when opportunity arose, Harris was the only logical and practical choice. There were politically better candidates, white males as opposed to the black female, but there was no means practicable to engineer their appointment as a candidate replacement. Harris suffered as low key vice president despite being gifted the politically power ball issue of reproductive rights, then she is black and female … and latent bigotry in America knows no bounds.

Trump was a candidate because the GOP /Republican party collectively and individually lacked the balls and values to refute and replace him.

In elections for local state assembly where i live, GOP/Republican candidates did not disclose their party affiliation when communicating to voters … such is their shame and embarrassment in their own brand.

No shit!

So the most damning piece of data I have heard so far is comparing 2024 to 2020. In round numbers:
  • 2020: Biden had 81 million votes; Trump 74 million votes.
  • 2024: Harris 71 million votes; Trump 74 million votes.
10 millions voters went AWOL.

Seems Harris and/or her policies didn't appeal to the electorate. The UK and the US have similar requirements of their government and that is to deal with illegal immigration and the economy. The UK is fast finding out that Labour is incapable of sorting either and look an even worse bet than the Tories who were pretty pathetic in office themselves and paid the price at the ballot box for their complacency. Right now Nigel Farage and Reform are licking their lips. Like them or loathe them they'd find it pretty difficult to be as useless as the two main parties should they ever get into office.

I read today that Gareth Southgate is to receive a knighthood in the New Years Honours List. For WHAT exactly????????????? He failed to win anything as England's manager but will now become a 'Sir'! What a gravy train football has become. Managers flop, get sacked, receive a monster contract pay-off then relax in the sun until some other idiot trundles along with another lucrative offer. As for the players don't get me started.......
