Whilst I appreciate that there are also massive outgoings, I would be very interested to know how the situation stands since K&L took over. :unsure:

Net transfer spend is a shallow, lazy, and ultimately useless metric for judging how well off we should be. Brentford haven't been making profits either.

Most of our transfer profit since relegation has gone to plug the £60m in outstanding liabilities we had hanging over us from the PL (£40m due within the first year). The rest went into Andre Ayew's pocket as our wage bill is in excess of our means.

Exactly. At one point we had 85% wage to revenue ratio, and when you add amortization, then it's clear we spent more than we earned. Also we used to buy players for more than what we sold them for.

It was an unsustainable model initiated by Huw Jenkins and a huge gambling.
