Good luck to Wrexham in their first leg play-off semi against Grimsby. It's 1-1 at the moment but I really hope that they make it into the EFL sooner rather than later. Wish we had American owners like theirs.

Wrexham were losing 1-2 fought back to 3-2 but now losing again 3-4. Getting updates from TalkSport. Sounds like a helluva game but not liking the result so far.

And Wrexham go down 4-5 to a team they finished well above in the table. :( Maybe next season then but they blew a terrific opportunity today.

I'm buying Chinese to take to @Ladygargar 's tonight as a thank you for all the sumptious meals she's cooked me. Bonus is that she reckons we should be able to stream the big game via BT You Tube on to her telly. Fingers crossed! 🤞

24 - 4 shots Liverpool had the expected goals by far but that's not always how it goes. Steve Cooper gets a side promoted. Impressive but there was at least one penalty that was horribly missed by the VAR.

Liverpool played much better football two and three years ago when they won the PL and CL titles. In 2020/21 Jurgen Klopp decided to abandon his high octane, gegen-pressing, heavy-metal football, and replaced it with a slower possession based style. He did it probably because of too many injuries he had in 2020/21 season when Liverpool almost missed on the CL places.

With other words, Liverpool are not the same side I enjoyed watching a couple of years ago. Now they pass the ball around, controll their games, and, because they have so much quality up front (and behind), eventually score and beat their opponents. They have become grinders like Manchester City.

Last night the best goalkeeper in the world Courtois had a great game while Liverpool didn't play well.

Andy Pandy gets Forest promoted. Play-offs, play-off final, promotion. Each season better than the last. Martin came in and thought it was broken. Twat. Did our ownership / execs really think that. Now I’m listening to Andy Pandy’s press conference via zoom I guess.

Andy Pandy went to Forest, a club that was broken, got them promoted. Martin came to us and we end up broken.

Tate saw what was going on early on and decided his best interest lay somewhere else. 🤷🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️ Good for Tate. What will this season bring,

Looking back Tate's arrival was the turning point at Forest. Andy Pandy realized he'd bitten off more than he could chew at Forest and realized Tate's value to him with us.
Don't know if we will ever play them again, but always looked forward to the Forest games and always attended both venues.

The irony is that Andy Pandy never claimed to have any magic sauce. Martin claimed to have magic wand and sauce and that every thing before was broke (that’s what he kept hinting at) and only he could fix it but woe is me I didn’t have a proper .

I don’t remember Sousa whining, nor Rogers, nor Laudrup.

Martin is on a very short rope

Listening to Talk Sport this morning with Ally McCoist, Jamie O'Hara and Dean Saunders. Deano maintained that as long as a player had the right ATTITUDE he would guarantee a 7/10 almost every game. As I've heard from knowledgeable others before, he rated the correct attitude way above actual talent. Whilst O'Hara demurred, McCoist was in complete agreement with Dean.

I have long complained about the attitude at our club and it seems that Cooper struck lucky with his squad at Forest. As for the football between Forest and Huddersfield, at our best we'd have wiped the floor with both of them. And that's the problem. Our players don't possess the attitude to consistently play their best week in week out. Too many players decide to phone it in far too often and that's why we finished where we did.

Striking another chord, interesting to hear the opinion expressed today that, if either Liverpool or Citeh played in La Liga, they'd finish top of the pile; whereas, if either Real or Barcelona played in the Premier League, they'd have little chance of doing it. As the teams stand today I tend to agree with that.

I understand what you say and you're spot on about attitude. But I'm afraid it stops there for me. I can't wish him well because of the role I'm told he played in Laudrup's demise. He played a big part in the whole disgusting affair merely because, absolutely correctly, Laudrup knew that he and Monk could in no way cut in the Premier League. So, the knives were plunged into Laudrup's back, which was the start of our downfall. The heavy irony is that Tate is now in the Premier League whilst we languish in the lower level of the Championship with no realistic prospect of getting out of there unless we drop down, which could very likely happen. There is no way at all that I wish Tate any success in his career and I hope Forest crash and burn in the PL. Sorry, Steve.

I’ve heard this so many times that I must assume it’s true. I have also heard many times that the Yanks would not invest until Laudrup was gone. I must assume this is true. I have also seen both Monk and Tate with pride walk out onto the pitch in the Premier league.

They might have walked out with pride but no doubt they were thanking their lucky stars that players of their ability could ever get a game in the Premier League. They were Championship level at best and must have known it. I would have shrugged my shoulders had it been any other club but it was MY club that was affected by their actions, so I cannot wish them well.

As a trusted source told me, Monk, Tate, Ash Williams and Leon approached Jenkins to express their 'dissatisfaction' with Laudrup and really twisted the knife. Leon later distanced himself from the affair. Jenkins is on record as saying that he found Laudrup easy to deal with and a good man. His sacking by email shortly after having 'productive discussions' with Jenkins shows just how toxic things were behind the scenes at the Liberty.

There were other factors at play as well, which I am not prepared to divulge here as it might compromise the identity of my source. Suffice to say that the whole thing stunk to high heaven and we are still paying the price of this treachery, because that's exactly what it was, to this day.

Yes, the yanks wanted Laudrup out, probably due to the fact his requests for players didn't fit in with their plans of the direction of cash across the Atlantic,
In my view a scapegoat needed to be found, Monk was the obvious answer, along with Tate they were the two that were probably top of Laudrups not wanted list.
It would seem Jenkins was under American orders to act on the training etc complaints of Monk, Tate, and Williams, and Monk to take over the management.
One of the reasons for my thoughts is that months later when Jenkins was free of the Yanks, he made a public statement saying I didn't want to sack Michael.
What chairman in his right mind would sack a successful manager for an unknown Championship full back, if not under orders from the owners. If this were true Jenkins himself would be first out the door.
The rest is history and we will suffer the consequences for a long time to come I fear.

Yes. Inherited a good but mismanaged squad. And not only Cooper struck lucky with his squad at Forest, he is one of the luckier managers.

- Forest were 10th for expected points last season, and finished 4th. You know what it means.
- If you watch the highlights from their games last season then you'll see how many chances and goals they were gifted. We gifted them 9 goals and six points.
- They won play-off semi-finals against Sheffield United on penalties. Well, penalties are a coin flip.
- The difference in the final was an own goal.

Let us not forget what we needed to reach the play-offs in Cooper's first season with us. Do you remember how many goals should we need to score in our last game?

As for the football between Forest and Huddersfield, at our best we'd have wiped the floor with both of them. And that's the problem
We'd have wiped the floor with both of them had we a) played a more direct football, b) not passed the ball to the players under pressure in our own half, c) played two or three and not one at the back, d) shot and crossed more when in their third, and finally e) pressed them all over the pitch.
