Brentford beat Blackburn 1-0 with a penalty and take 3 points to move into second place. Rovers were denied an absolutely nailed on penalty themselves according to the pundits who thought that the referee might have been unsighted. BUT his lino wasn't and his failure to do his job properly could cost us at the end of the season - if we haven't cost ourselves by then that is.

But I suppose we can't complain given our own recent good fortune with penalties.

Watched Brum beat Reading the other night and were very lucky to do so. I was impressed with Reading and noticed, without implying any semblance of racism whatsoever, that they had no less than EIGHT black players (people of colour) in their team.

I have noticed that black players are usually strong, athletic, fast, combative and that is how Reading played. Some of them had some really silky skills as well in that they could beat a defender with flair and tricks. I just hope that by the time we play them next we have got ourselves out of this rut we're in because otherwise I can see us being totally overwhelmed by an impressive team that seems to have regained its form.

I grew up in an era when black players were few and far between, a stark difference to the current game where there are many fine home-grown black players who have added so much to the game. With Reading boasting eight good players I wonder if we'll ever see an entire team comprising black players. And that would be no bad thing in today's racist climate.

Back in the day West Ham's Clyde Best was the best of the cohort you reference. There is a YouTube video of West Ham v Spurs from 1971 with Clyde Best, Geoff Hurst, Jimmy Greaves and Bobby Moore on the field for West Hame against Spurs with Martin Peters, Chivers, Gilzean, England, and Mullery (our own JB kicked the shit out of him in a combination game at the Vetch in '71 or '72 and a massive brawl broke out in the center circle of mud)

Wales leading Mexico 1-0 at half time courtesy of a well taken Kieffer Moore goal. I've said before that he's a very decent player with good ball control for a big man. He works hard, is good in the air and scores goals as well. What's not to like? For £2 million I reckon he was a steal and worth over five times that now. Pity the cheapskates didn't loosen the purse strings when he was available because the league goals he's already scored in a poor team could have fired us to promotion.

Well, well, well, so Wales' second team won 1-0 and it was a thoroughly deserved victory too. Mexico, were unbeaten in 23 games and in the world's top ten, so this was an excellent perfomance by the lads and a fitting tribute to Chris Gunter earning his 100th cap. Not the most talented of players but a hard worker and a decent bloke. Well done, Chris.

Shuddersfield beating Bees 1-0 right now. Suit us down to the ground if it finishes like that....... but I doubt it will.

Now 1-1 and Terriers just refused an obvious penalty. But then Bees are a London team and the Authorities want those in the top tier. :(
