..... Who is Swansea's greatest 'musical artist' ? I vote for this guy
good shout, I was looking for the more whacky and wonderful category lolIt's so subjective isn't it? Brian Breeze would have to be up there for sure. If anyone hasn't seen him live with his band playing guitar rock blues then I'd recommend you do so. He's incredible. Don't know if he's still gigging though. Used to follow him when he had The Breeze with Terry Williams drumming (ex Dire Straits for those 'youngsters' who don't know). Fabulous guitarist and a really nice, modest guy with it.
PS: Dave Bell used to play bass and when Brian and Terry would start jamming in the middle of a set, Dave would just sit on the end of the stage with his feet dangling down and sip his beer.
Borini ?For those that don't know Terry Williams was with the swansea group Man for most of his career. He also played with Meatloaf , Rockpile (with Dave Edmunds and Nick Lowe ) , as well as Dire Straits and featured on sessions with many top bands .
Brian Breeze introduced Borini to the lads who formed the group " Rumours " in the 70s , Borini played with them for several years ..They played a lot from Fleetwood mac , Santana , Hendrix etc . my favourite covers they played was Neil Youngs Ohio and Lindisfarnes Lady Eleanor , most of the band lived in Porthcawl and they used to practice in the Ship public house near the sea front car park . Some great memories for me there .
Borini ! A very well respected member of this forum who had the misfortune to succumb to the dreaded covid 19 and passed away very early in the year,Borini ?
Didn't know Phil used to play professionally.Borini played with them for several years ..They played a lot from Fleetwood mac , Santana , Hendrix etc .
