Millers away

Despite our dominance Millers had more chances to win. Some stats:

POSSESSION: 26-74 SHOTS: 9-14 OT: 8-5 CORNERS: 5-6 FOULS: 12-6 GOALS: 1-1

Look at the shots and the on target figures. They had one shot off target whilst we had NINE!!!!!! Who the fuck is coaching what at our place? Shooting practise is well down the list it seems. As far as Oba's miss is concerned that can only be described as downright criminal and it cost us two points. I hope he was forcefully reminded of that fact after the game.

Looking at the numbers it’s clear which team operated with the most efficiency. With shots on target being the ultimate goal, they managed the most, optimizing their return on shots taken, and time in possession. In comparison, we were crap.

if you normalize the match to 50:50 possession, then they would have had roughly 18 shots to our 9, with 16 being on target to our 4, and Fisher being what he is, we would have been hammered. Martin’s Madness when normalized is really producing a grossly inferior outcome relative to the opposition.

practically speaking, Martin’s Madness uses possession as a band-aid to cover up ineptitude.

During the game I posted the question can he really do that or was it hoof and hope. Looks like the latter, he hoofed because he couldn’t come up with or didn’t have any better options. 🤷🏻‍♂️

we won’t be seeing any more of those.

We draw with the relegation favourites and Cardiff beat arguably the Championship favourites. Not a good day. Okay, it's early days yet of course but a good start is essential in this league and, whilst we played some very good football, there is still much to work on. The sooner the better, Mr Martin.
