Luton Town

We need three points so I am starting this thread. 😎

We should be able to outplay, outpass, and outscore them. We are a much better side.

Luton are:

  • tactically naive
  • poor at converting their chances
  • poor at defending against long shots
  • poor at defending against through ball attacks
  • poor at avoiding individual errors
  • poor at defending against attacks down the wings
  • poor at defending against counter-attacks
  • not agressive
They are, actually, an ideal opponent to play at this stage of the season. They will allow us to pass the ball, and, because they are tactically naive, they will leave a lot of empty space for us to attack.

In the reverse fixture Lowe fluffed two excellent chances so this is an oportunity for him to start scoring again.

Guehi is probably out with a groin injury, so Bennet will start. I would like to see Cabango in his preferred position, and Latibeaudiere on the left side of Bennett. Bidwell and Roberts as wing-backs. Lowe and Ayew up front, and Dhanda or Hourihane as ATM. In the defensive midfield either Grimes and Fulton or Grimes and Smith. Hamer instead of Woodman.

Unless Woody comes down with something before the kick-off Hamer is never going to get a chance.

Given your assessment of Luton, I think Dhanda is the better player to start with over Hourihane. He can carry and attack with the ball much better.

We should beat Luton who can play some good football on their day. But we'll have to massively improve our form to bag the three points we need to keep pace with Brentford who won last night. I'm concerned about our chances because we've all seen how bad we've been recently. However, I don't want to jinx us, so I'm going for a win by one goal.

Yes, Brentford won last night, and I see Watford have taken our league best defensive record from us, although we still have a game in hand on them. What to expect this lunch time, {early kick off 12-15 } remains to be seen, Luton 16th in the league and us sharing 2nd place on points, the form book would say yes, our points. But what we've experienced over the last month or so I don't think any Swans supporter would be that confident.
I think we'll do it, maybe once again with some sympathetic refereeing.

On paper, an easy win. BUT, they have a Welsh manager who was a better footballer than our Welsh manager and has an enduring love affair with Luton Town FC which percolates through to the team.
I am looking forward to an exciting match with the Swans on top with a 3-0 win, assuming Bennett starts and lasts 90 minutes.

No Lowe! I had a feeling he might turn it around today and bag a couple of goals. We need an undisputed win, 3-0 would be good for them.

Routs on the bench .... could have started instead of Lowe.

No Arriola ... did he just come for a vacation and fitness training ?

He's still being brought up to pace according to WOL. I don't understand that because he's played in 2 matches.
