Seems a lot of current top professional players who're approaching the end of their careers are taking this route. I read that a number of them are doing so but I can only remember Leroy Sane of Bayern, ex Citeh, as being one. Sought after things are fairly recent PL experience, a good catchment area, some tradition, decent support and a playing identity. Apparently Swans were identified as a good bet by meeting all those criteria.

Apparently there are a few big names going down this route, Mbappe with Caen, Bellerin with Forest Green, Zaha with Croydon and Mata with some American team.

I did read something about another member of Madrid having a stake somewhere.

It definitely seems the way. But whether it's got the benefit of their own (new) club or their hopeful own enrichment, I'm yet to figure.
