WOL has the story too. If this is true I wonder if he'd ever play for us? I know he's 39 now but he'd be played for his experience and footballing brain - other younger players would do the running for him. And, if he actually did get involved with the club, imagine the influence he'd have in the building with the knowledge he's gained from the top clubs he's played at.

This can only be a massive positive, beyond any financial contribution he may be making. If we use his presence, knowledge, and connections correctly, he could be a useful asset to identify and encourage the right players to join the club. We need the "right" players.

His entrance, presuming he and his team have done their due diligence, is a huge signal that the Club is on the right track, has owners that have passed scrutiny, and speaks to the football world that we are in business to mean business.

This event now starts to put some sense around Sheehan's comments about the Club being in a process of making the right decisions and putting things in place for him to consider the head coaching role. This is perhaps one of the things he may have been privy to. I can only imagine a little buzz going round the players at Fairwood.

some good Croatian players?
Well I hope they'd be better than he was!! I'm already running for cover, guys  just joking of course!! There are so many benefits to be taken from this, not least the experience he can pass on from the very top managers and coaches that he's worked with. Obviously if he gets involved, the players will learn but I'm thinking he can help Alan Sheehan and the coaching staff a great deal as well. Seems a great addition whichever way you cut it.

So Simon Jordan says he lived in Bishopston for a while; I'll have to ask LadyGG if she ever spoke to him because she lives just a minute or two away from there. As a point of interest so did Ivor and we always stopped for a drink or four in The Plough at Bishopston after every game when I was driving him home. Happy days and fond memories! :)

@Behindthegoal … that journo’s questions are really beginning to irritate me. The thought of Allen and Modric both coming off the bench late in the game is amusing, but highly improbable.

After the debacle against Arsenal, the sense in Spain is that Madrid are going to clean house at the end of the season starting with the head coach. Modric is most likely gone as well unless he is offered a coaching role at some level. Seems that Modric is at a cross-roads: is he going down the business path or the coaching path, or both. He has taken a flutter with us, which suggests that a special advisory or club agent role might be on the table. Clearly he’s an asset that could be used beyond writing a check and smiling in the director’s box.
