A L1 #9 for a club with aspirations to start next season in the EPL. That's a big step-up for the player. Is he capable.

I think Cullen and Whittaker and perhaps whoever else we have blossoming in our own U23 are our priorities. If we purchase a player, it needs to be a player that will have significant immediate impact, and not a somebody that "needs time to adjust" and supplies mediocrity while stealing time from others that could well benefit more and deliver more on the way.

If JCH is 26 then he's fully developed. If he's still banging around L1 then he may surprise us all and be the black swan in a higher league, but the odds of that are ... well ... low. And, we're a white swan Club, we don't need black swans, black sheep ... an unfortunate use of color adjective predominate.

Cullen, Whittaker et al are ours for better or worse and if we don't believe in them and they don't have the technical ability then why were they acquired and still on our books. The crux of the matter is technical ability and a head for the role ... you can't put that in, it's either there or it isn't ... but you can get them wiser and bigger and that's where game time comes in.

I would add to my previous post the attributes of athleticism including speed of body and mind ... this is also innate. A player either has it or doesn't; but, with game time they can be optimized.

My vote ... and I know Lowe is a love child ... give Cullen a fair chance to prosper. Ayew is an automatic selection. Cullen or Lowe or Whittaker ... I vote Cullen.

My vote is all of them. Lowe is NOT a love child, it's just our expectations are sometimes too high. We can't expect any striker to score from all chances, especially not from half chances. Which means we have to be better at creating chances for whoever plays up front. Ayew, Lowe, Cullen, Whittaker...it doesn't matter.

When it comes to Lowe, he has potential to become a much better player, but I would prefer we play him on the left wing, Roberts on the right wing, Ayew as attacking midfielder and either Cullen or Whittaker as strikers. I just feel we could be more deadly going forward if we use this combo.
