Joe Rodon to Spurs

Sky saying we are in discussion for a fee of circa £18 million. I'd prefer Joe to go to Spurs rather than West Ham but I think the fee is light by about £8 million. We never could handle Levy over transfer deals :( but I wonder if we'll recall Brandon Cooper from Newport who recently had a stormer against Premier League Newcastle.

This is terrible news. Spurs tried to offer Carter-Vickers as part of the deal but owners would rather have the money.

Can we recall Cooper at this point?

With Rodon we have a fair to good chance of promotion - even automatically - letting him go is sabotage.

Please, no. If we lose him then it's back to the mediocrity. We don't have time to find a suitable replacement.

I am surprised Grimes and Ayew have not been poached yet.

'Sabotage' describes it perfectly . We have/had a decent shot at promotion this season but it will be massively more difficult without Joe. I wouldn't complain so much if the money was invested in the team to strengthen us but we all know that the cash will end up in some fuckers' pockets instead. What is being done to us is tantamount to 'criminal' behaviour in football terms and as for our new CEO, he seems to be as much use as a chocolate teapot and just a highly paid mouthpiece for what I regard as a couple of carpetbaggers.

Please God the Trust will get our so-called owners into a court of law and expose them for the charlatans I believe them to be. 🙏

The Trust are a bunch statues ... they've had how many years to do their duty and they still can't figure out how to pick their own nose.

Just read that spurs are taking the piss and only offered 7 mill for Rodon. Anything less than 20 mill and we are being robbed before the wanks even get their hands on the money. Let's hope that if a deal is done for Joe its done early enough for us to ( if allowed) reinvest some cash in strengthening the squad.

Load of fuss over nothing. Spurs made a cheeky bid (prompted by our beloved Trev no doubt) which was dismissed out of hand as £7m is a lot lower than our asking price, and Sky ran with it as some nearly-there thing. Cue club taking pelters from fans for trying to flog Joe on the cheap and the usual nonsense.

I'd rather have the cash as well. better options out there on less wages.

I hope you are right, but there is nothing unusual to start with a bid of £7m and then pay £18m. The bid indicates that Spurs are interested, and I doubt this is happening without Mourinho's blessing. And when Mourinho, who knows what he is doing, is interested, then I'm pretty sure the Spurs will come back with an offer we can't refuse (to quote Don Corleone). Knowing how we do business, everything over £10m + add-ons will be accepted. A deadline for domestic transfers between PL and EFL clubs is on Friday, 16 October.

In the present situation in football finances are now becoming critical to most if not all league clubs. Any sensible offers are likely to be considered. The virus is no more under control now that 9 months ago and club finances continue to drain.

If we want a shot at promotion this year we refuse to sell. If the owners want money we sell and finish midtable at which point our attractive outlook for players diminishes and with our pathetic owners we falter and flout here eventually to relegation.

This is a big deal for the new board and owners or whatever the fuck they are. Joe, for us, is worth 40 million, he is vital to our defence and vital to our chances at 120million if we get promotion. It's time to grow a pair and back this fucking team or what's the point in even owning it?

You sell Joe and you'll have another squad debacle similar to the Dan James one and this time there is no prick doing something honourable the save us from stupidity.

I know that we have to sell in order to keep afloat, especially during this time when most clubs are struggling, but seriously what is the point if the club won't tell others to get lost unless they are willing to stump up serious serious money. Spurs have always bought on the cheap and always come to us. Tell them to get lost.

Spot on mate. Totally agree with you.

I thought the deadline for the Europa League registration was last night but have heard maybe it's tonight instead. Either way Jose doesn't have until the 16th to strengthen his squad for all competitions.

Based on how we did business with Oli and DJ I don't see us driving down our asking price dramatically. Both those offers started at about £10m and finished nearer £20m with everything added on.

It's worrying for a lot of clubs, the government is funding the National League with £10 million. The £120 million we could get from promotion is why they should keep Rodon. We can prevent goals better than last season.

Apparently Leicester have joined the race for Joe. Sounds like he'll be leaving this window and the only hope we have is to get top top dollar for him. Anything under 25M for him is unacceptable, especially as getting a replacement would be nigh on impossible at this late stage.

Looks like Ampadu is partnering Rodon at CB for Wales today
And what a fcuking borefest of a game it was too . I did literally doze off for parts of it and if that's all Giggs has to offer as an international boss, the quicker he sods off the better. No ambition, no intensity, no class and no idea of how to kill off injury ravaged opponents who would hardly have been rated as a dangerous team even at full strength. Hell, Wales almost managed to make the Swans look like a free-scoring, fast-paced outfit. Very, very poor. :poop::poop:

Yeah, it was a poor game. Back four very good, the midfield not good.

Giggs should switch to three at the back, play Ramsey and Smith/Williams in the heart of the midfield with Ramsey in a more offensive role, Ben Davies and Connor Roberts as wing-backs, Harry Wilson as ATM, and James & Moore/Bale up front. I think he is wasting Harry Wilson on the right wing.
