Key Player
All the post-match banter from Martin and the players is stating that the Millwall game is the best they've played in a while.
On one side of the debate, if Fisher had not been in goal, a regular Championship keeper would have been much stronger and saved one or perhaps even both of the two goals. We could have walked out of there with a lucky point - based on Manning's deflected goal - or even 3.
I have to wonder if the players are not getting irritated by now that all of their "good" work is being nullified by repeated weak performances in key positions. Fisher's being one. It's got to be a source of great frustration. If I was a midfield player busting a gut up and back for 90, and my keeper conceded that second goal, he'd get a massive WTF after the game. When Curt (Mr Nice Guy) bemoans the goal and states that Fisher "should do better" ... then you know it's rank. In post-match, there's a tinge of Martin expressing the frustration too. When is he going to pull the trigger and play the new guy ... can it possibly be any worse.
