Reports today suggest we have bid 3.5 million for Swedish midfielder Mekler Widell who plays in Danish league .
I don't know anything about the 22 year old , but it seems a lot of money for a relatively unknown midfielder.
Also read that Sheffield United are preparing a bid for Darling .Grimes to Coventry nearly finalised.

Just read up on Widell, he is vice captain at his club , ever present this season playing all 20 games.
He is a box to box creative midfielder.
Could be a good signing for us , would relegate Fulton to a permanent bench seat .

If this is true, then Coleman has already made his assessment of this season and is cashing in while he can and preparing for the next. If Widell arrives, I can see why Grimes is expendable. United and Darling is perplexing, but their money is green. Are we now looking perhaps to get Hannes on a permanent deal this summer?

Players come and players go but our best way forward is to appoint a manager who knows what he's doing and get us playing with fight and pride. We might sign a really promising player but what happens then? I'll tell you: he'll be coached by Williams and his gang then lose all his potential and motivation before going backwards at a rate of knots. We need a manager with the ability to develop and improve players. Williams is not that man.

Looks to get/play forward at every opportunity. Can pick a pass long or short and has the skill to beat his marker. Just what we need and our strikers would love his service. Trouble is I fear our current coaching staff would ruin him and play him as they do Grimes.

I don't think we will sign him. Other clubs are interested and swansea.com is not the best place to be at the moment. The club is in decline and I don't think he wants to come. The players want to leave (Darling, Grimes, Vipotnik, Eom...), just look at their faces and body language. We want Tymon and Key to go. The club is a mess right now.

According to the Danish newspapers, we have offered 3.5 million pounds for Widell, which is a lot of money and will be accepted by his parent club. But I am not sure about the player. I'd like him to come.

Even some of the red flags are good - lower pass accuracy means he is a high-risk, high-reward passer which is exactly what this club needs. Prime Laudrup-era Wayne Routledge regularly posted sub-60% passing completion figures. Sometimes all high accuracy means is "safe and backwards" and we've all seen enough of that.

His high number of dispossessions are simply a reflection of how often he likes to dribble (as are his high "fouls won" numbers), and again this is something this club badly needs.

Assuming he'd play next to Franco and be at least 65% attacking, I think he'd be an excellent addition.

It seems a desperate move but we don't have much time to replace our captain. Very troubling times for our club. There's a lot of blame to go around. Hoping we survive this season and can sort it out in the summer.

Widell would replace the captain as a player and then some. Allen would replace him as Club captain. On the field captain could be Allen, or Cabango or Cullen or Vig. Frankly, Allen would be well suited to the slot on the field currently occupied by Grimes - of course he would play it differently and not for a full 90, but he would provide energy, experience, drive and with Franco and Cullen an effective threesome, which could be adjusted when Cooper is fully fit. And there's always Fulton but my guess is that he's another to be moved on shortly unless he starts showing some energy on the field.

Pity that Darling is leaving because I think he would make a good captain. Wonder if that was offered it would make any difference to his decision to leave. Probably not given the current upheaval.

I've read somewhere that Fulton wants to leave as well. How come that Tymon and Key don't want to go?
