Got Sky Sports on in the background and Martin O'Neill was giving a lengthy interview about many things. Got a lot of time for this guy; he was a bloody good footballer, a decent manager and is very intelligent and articulate. Okay, he's pretty outspoken and has upset a few people in his time but he always gives an honest opinion and he knows what he's talking about.
Anyway, he was recounting the time when he played for Forest under Brian Clough and he's clocked his name on the team sheet and was unhappy about what he saw. So he goes in to the manager's office to make his feelings known.
"Okay", Clough responds, "do you want to play wide right or be on the sub's bench?"
"I never bothered him again," said O'Neill.
Amused me no end did that. Cloughie never did do player power!
