I wouldn't bother resigning McBurnie. It'd be a sentimental signing. Club should stick with Vipotnik at #9 because at 22 he will have actual resale value and is probably on half of Oli B's salary demand. They only get good resale value out of Vip if they develop him by playing him. It wouldn't make economic sense to stall his development at this point for a player who will cost more and recoup nothing.
Strikers are expensive, Vip has enough ability to come good. He is already scoring at a 0.3 gpg rate which is bang average and for me the baseline for any striker. It is very easy to buy strikers who can't even do that. He can only get better.
Those stats include his performances under Williams when the whole team was shite and were barely taking 3 shots a game collectively.
Wedell and Inoussa have been brought in to improve the creativity of the team and feed the striker. Ronald can't cross and Eom only started to play well over the last half a dozen games. I'm excited to see Vipotnik given regular good service. He will still fluff his lines now and then but I'd back him to score 13+ next season.
Bobby Wales is listed as a centre forward but I see Sheehan using him the way he used Peart-Harris - as a wide target man. Sheehan said Peart-Harris offered "something different" to anyone else in the team, and his statistical strengths line up with those of Wales, so I suspect Sheehan sees Peart-Harris Pt 2 in Wales.
Wales has good numbers for tackling, expected assists, long balls, and winning duels. He also has a 0.17 gpg, which is anaemic for a striker. Interestingly, Peart-Harris managed 0.16 gpg with Swansea - another area where the players are similar.
