At the start of this skein,Ivor,, you suggested we should haggle to get Sorba Thomas, and I’m sure our management would, if they were interested. Me, if I were offered a £4 million house for £750k, I would move hell and high water to find the money.
PS. On all those lists it’s not till the last one, successful crosses, that I saw a Swansea badge, Josh Tymon at 13th

I had no idea of his actual value when I posted and suggested a haggle on the basis that the asking price is usually negotiable when you buy anything. That said, once I'd investigated further, my inclination was to pay the asking price before anyone else grabs him. I think he'd be a real asset in a decent team, which Terriers were not. I wonder if our lot are even aware of him?

I'm hearing that Sheffield Wednesday and Cardiff City are both sniffing around Sorba Thomas. Be gutted if we miss out on him - particularly to the latter!! With that in mind I enlisted the help of @Ladygargar who supplied me with some possible contacts. I've already phoned one who couldn't help but he supplied an email address for someone who might. I'm mailing him today.

It's so frustrating! A few years back I'd have just strolled into the club, met a player or two that I knew and passed on the info. Can't do that nowadays and it's even more difficult right now because it's the close season. Anyway I'll keep trying and keep the forum informed.

Being reported today that Swans are interested in Gambia international centre forward Adama Sidibeh of St Johnston. Aged 25 he was signed from non-league Warrington Rylands and has scored 2 goals in 10 outings. His transfer value is 250k Euros and it seems we're in at £500k. Now, I don't know a thing about Adama but it seems to me that Sorba Thomas is better and more proven value. Have our scouts got their heads up their arses?

has scored 2 goals in 10 outings.
Sidibeh scored 5 in 15. He played 10 games in the regular season, and then 5 games in the relegation play-offs. In the last 5 games he scored 3 goals and helped St Johnston to stay in the league.

I don't know a thing about Adama but it seems to me that Sorba Thomas is better and more proven value.
Yes, he is. But how about both? :)

WOL reporting that Juventus are very interested in signing 17 year old Swan's winger Aimar Govea who is being tracked by Arsenal, Brighton, Southampton and Newcastle along with several la Liga clubs. Aimar, the younger brother of former Swan, Jordi, signed his first pro contract last March and is widely regarded as a hot prospect. That said, Juve reckon a bid of about £1 million should be enough to get him. My thoughts are that if he's rated with that much potential at his age, that figure is nowhere near enough and I hope our owners won't be greedy enough to grab it. That said, if we want to build for the future, Govea is exactly the type of player we need to hang on to like grim death.

Govea shouldn't be going anywhere except into our starting XI. Arsenal et al are just going to buy him then loan him out. Doesn't do the kid or us any good. The only acceptable deal should be a big fee now with a guarantee season long loan back for the next 3 seasons, i.e. if he can't make the new club's first team squad he's ours. Then it's up to Govea to push on and displace Ronald or figure out how to play left side, develop his left foot, or cut in and shoot right. He can develop faster playing for us over some third country second tier league.

I just hope there is a 20% re-sale clause in his contract.
I would sell him for £1m+. That's a lot of money for a 17 years old.

I believe there was a sell-on clause. I've heard numbers between 10-25%, which means between ~£1.8m - £4.5m for Swansea.
Might not that be on the profit (£6 million) West Ham made rather than their total selling fee? If it's the latter then our cut would be 600k - £1.5 million. But I'm not sure which figure was used as the basis for the deal.
