As you can see, Tymon and Allen were absolutely brilliant in the first half against Sunderland. Tymon was here, there and everywhere. Allan had a perfect game, he was bossing the midfield and he didn't make a single mistake.

Ronald was as brilliant as Tymon in creating chances up front, but like Placheta he made a few mistakes, so his final score was not as high as Tymon's. But that's normal for wingers, they're always trying to create and they don't always succeed.

Placheta was unlucky not to score with an excellent header when he was denied by the Sunderland keeper, and he missed two other great chances. Some of his crosses were also inaccurate. That's why his final score was 0, despite 10 positive actions.

Cabango and Wood were rock solid in defence, bullying Sunderland players and winning battles in the air and on the ground, making interceptions and clearances.

Naughton was excellent at full-back down the right. He played some lovely one-twos with Ronald and fed our attackers with some excellent long balls.

Grimes had a pretty solid game but had some bad moments (losing possession, missing a good chance).

Paterson had a good first half. He created a great chance for Ronald (the one Ronald missed for his hat-trick) and made a lot of other good contributions. Together with Cullen, he pressed the Sunderland defenders, made tackles, played one-twos and distributed the ball in the final third.

Cullen has to play every game as number 9. Period. He is so much better than Yates in terms of overall involvement in the game. His work-rate and build-up play is excellent and he is often there where he should be - in front of the opposition goal. He was unlucky not to score from that header, but his header created a tap-in opportunity for Ronald.

Rushworth was not really threatened in the first half. His distribution has to improve.

By the way, how on earth is this not a red card?

Naughton sends a perfect long pass to Paterson

Paterson runs past the Sunderland defender and heads towards the Sunderland goal.
The Sunderland defender gets only a yellow for a foul on Paterson.

I'm assuming most of the Ronald and Placheta mistakes are missed crosses? From the few Ronald highlights I watched there were a few. He kicks it sky high and over the bar a bit. The 1st half was impressive when our wingers have only had what 2 weeks of training with the teeth. They are show a great efficiency to get forward as a team. They will be a force if this continues.

The back 4 helped us, it seems like an obvious choice unless we can get world class wing backs. Connor Roberts and Manning would have made this an exciting team. Tymon has been class. Where do you think Ginnely fits in when he returns? Lowe as well. I wouldn't want to take Pato out of this lineup.

Poor crosses, missed chances, possession losses...

Possession losses = dispossessed, sloppy passes, poor ball control...

We should never go back to a three at the back in my opinion.

Connor Roberts and Manning would have made this an exciting team.
We have Naughton, Key and Tymon as full-backs. I don't miss Roberts and Manning.

Ginnelly can play either as a striker, attacking mid or winger. A nice option to have.

Lowe? On the bench. He is signed on loan, Cullen is our player. We have to continue developing Cullen.

I wouldn't want to take Pato out of this lineup.
Paterson has been a consistent performer this season. Excellent work rate, pressing, tracking back, tackling, creativity... As far as I can remember he has made more tackles than any other Swansea player this season.

Exactly! This has to be the priority as does renewing his contract, which expires end of season.

We are going to have some tough but excellent choices to make end of season.

Pato has his limitations and they are only going to increase with age under the Williams' system. His contract expires at the end of the season.

Best I can see, Placheta's contract expires end of season also. I presume the Club will renew that; he seems pretty useful.

And as our luck would have it, Lowe's contract expires end of season at Bournemouth.

So there are 3 players that are going to be hunting for work in June unless we put them under contract.

Looking down the list, there are a lot of players who will be out of contract at their clubs come end of season: Rushworth, Humphreys, Ashby, Patino,

We also have: Wood, Walsh, Allen, Naughton, Placheta and Cullen.

1. Rushworth is staying for one more season. This has been agreed with Brighton.

2. Cullen should be given a contract extension.

3. Placheta should be given a contract.

4. I would give a 1 year contract extension to Allen (if he stays fit), Naughton and Pato.

5. I am not sure about Wood's contract situation.

6. Walsh, Patino, Ashby, Humphreys and Lowe can go.
