It would help if we stopped overpaying for some players and ignoring better who'd cost far less. Just read that we paid an initial £1.95 million for Bianchini and understand that we paid over a million each for Ronald and Eom. Sorba was on offer for £750k and is a better player than the lot of them. It would also help if the Liberty employed staff who knew what the fuck they were doing. There are too many people at all levels there drawing a salary for incompetence in my experience.

If we pay anything more than £750k for a player then he had better be a commanding presence starting every game; as we have just as good already on board. To pay what we paid for the likes of Yates, Bianchini, Ronald et al is stupidity.

In order to help balance the books, we need to sell some bog standard dross and replace them with fewer but better players. I'd sell Fulton, Eom, Bianchini, Tymon and Ronald for starters but there is a caveat in respect of Ronald. Imo, when he has been used there, I see him as a WB rather than a winger. He seems to enjoy a tackle and is mobile enough to cope in that position. As an out and out winger he doesn't possess anything like the pace or the trickery needed for that position and his crossing ability is as poor as anything I've seen in football - and that includes the level I played at.

We have a surplus of #9s. At the end of the season we will have: Thomas (on loan to years' end), Vipotnik, Bianchini, Yates, Kukharevych ... and whatever bubbles up from U21.

Need to cash in on at least 2 of these.

We also have a surplus in dodgy keepers: Fisher and our current #2.

We should make a point of signing: LOB, Delacroix and Darling.

Cash might also be free'd up with Allen and Naughton not returning.

Let Christie go at seasons' end - promote a U21.

Fulton at 30 has a year to go on his contract. No club will pay money for that.

Bottom-line, at the rate we are burning cash we are going to run out of mugs (investors) much sooner than later.

I know I'm repeating myself but it should also be remembered that when Sorba compiled that set of impressive stats for Huddersfield, a poor team that was relegated, he played in seven different positions that season. I'd guess that he's probably a better than any five of our present incumbents in their respective positions. This would provide brilliant options for our manager.

I'm guessing the wages Thomas would probably ask for would be more than Bianchini, Ronald and Eom's wages combined. It's the wage bills which kill teams. Plus there's the signing on fee, agent etc. That £750k isn't set in stone either, that's just paper talk.

Because Thomas is Welsh, he and his agent know the league and know what money they can get. The reason we think he'd be great in Swansea is because he's a proven commodity, and those don't come cheap.

The three Swans players you mentioned came from abroad and probably agreed to low wages etc just for a shot at getting into British football. They represent dice rolls on unproven players who only might come good.

So far, none of them have set the team on fire, but then they've mostly only played under Williams since they've been here, and everyone on the team played badly under Williams. Who knows what they might yet become?

You may well be right but I doubt his loan club, Nantes, is paying that much. The French League 1 is not noted for it's high wages other than the top teams. No one knows the exact figures for the financials so we have to accept what's in the public domain for now. Nevertheless I still think that Sorba would be far better for us than any of the players mentioned but I share your hope that they will in fact improve with time. However, let's face it, that would not be difficult given their distinctly average performances thus far.

Forgot about it. There's an article on WOL but it's in very general terms. Nothing to get excited about.

Most of the time, it's WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get). I think the only ones who can improve massively are Vipotnik and Franco. I reckon Vipotnik's a good striker, he just needs better service. As for Bianchini, I can't make my mind up yet. I'm keeping my fingers crossed we'll see the best of Ginnelly. What a loss he's been. Eom and Ronald are still pretty young, so with the right coaching they could really improve. Eom needs to work on his strength and Ronald should really focus on becoming a full-back. He's aggressive and fast, just what we need at the back. Key should become a right winger – he likes to attack the opposition box and his crosses are good.

P.S. We should sign both O'Brien and Delcroix. I like Delcroix.

Ginnelly had 45 mins with the 21s in midweek , to strengthen his match fitness , we could see him play a part today .
The higkights of the U21 match have been posted. Frankly, on that performance, Ginnelly shouldn’t make the first team bench. We have U21 that are sharper, fitter, faster, technically superior.
