FINALLY WE ARE RID OF OBAFEMI'S NONSENSE

Burnley have agreed a £4million pound deal to loan Obafemi for the rest of the season with a summer permanent purchase agreed .
Hopefully this will greenlight some much needed funds for some incoming to strengthen our squad. I expect some movements incoming in the next few days .
Glad to see the back of the waster, don't we do due diligence on these muppets ? He has a track record for being difficult, why sign him in the first place . The yanks are totally clueless and inept ( as well as tight fisted ) in all our transfer dealings .
Let's hope Martin can bring in his preferred targets and then actually bloody makes use of them !

Let's hope they're a whole lot better than Fisher and Darling! I've become very suspicious of Martin's player preferences and begun to think he wouldn't recognise a decent player if said player kicked him up the arse on a daily basis. Look how long Fulton and Cullen took to get a game not to mention the likes of Oli Cooper etc.

Due diligence on character has been a fundamental flaw during Martin's tenure. Wasn't Pato in a similar predicament with his previous club.

I wouldn't trust Martin with player moves in or out at this time. The bulk of the money if not all of it from Obafemi is not coming until the middle of the year. So at this point we are still acquiring new stock internally through academy promotions and recalling loan outs like Whittaker. This is probably a good thing. The decision on Martin's contract will be made in the summer, sulks and pouts will no doubt happen if a new contract is not offered, Martin will want out and we can then apply the money on the new managers priorities.

Remember the sharp drop-off in the class of players Swansea were attracting after Monk took over from Laudrup? Monk had no contacts and no drawing power in comparison (in fairness, few could match ML's appeal). Martin is too young a manager to play the market properly. Three of his acquisitions came from his last club because that's all he really knows. I think Winter is playing the bigger role in transfers atm.

Cutting out losses is going to be great for the rest of the squad. Don't need that kind of attitude here. I was very outspoken about keeping Obafemi and Piroe at the start of the season when rumours were swirling about the club selling both of them. I wish we just started with Cullen and Whittaker instead now.

I screamed blue murder at the time on a different forum that that would prove to be the case. How any owner could have sacked someone like ML and appoint a no-mark like Monk still baffles me to this day. That was the very worst day in our recent history and we're still paying the price.

Prayer for the day: Lord please save us in future from the attentions of greed driven individuals and rank amateurs of any description.

Finally announced that Obafemi is going to Burnley, on loan with an option to buy. Who wants to bet that he could screw this up. Was the Club desperate to get rid or what. Are we paying his wages while on loan or were we lucky enough to get some cash in?

The deal was originally reported as a loan with an obligation to buy for £4m. Then it takes 2 days for the deal to be announced, and when it is announced, the obligation to buy has been downgraded to an option to buy, and the fee is "undisclosed".

Amazing business guys 🙃

I would like to assume Burnley are paying all his wages else there's almost no point in the loan, but based on the other details I wouldn't bet on it.
