Aided by choice of guitar and pick up and settings on the amplifier. This can be modified by the guitarist to suit his needs.
As a mod you can modify the tone of the thread by deleting any inappropriate posts...

Btw, there was a documentary about Eric Clapton on telly this weekend. Did you see it? He had something of a hard life it seems but self inflicted in later life. I suppose you can't have it all. Just so tragic that his 4 year old son fell to his death from a skyscraper. I'd forgotten that.
