Jonny dumped by MVG in the semis who played great darts. Then the amazing Fallon Sherrock beat Dimitri Van der Berg 11-10 after being behind 7-1 and 8-2. Incredible!! o_O Then she gave MVG a good game in the Final before going down 7-11. But what a great performance from her and what a boost that must give womens' darts.

Jonny and Gerwyn looking good in the Grand Prix of darts both reaching the quarter finals beating Jose de Sousa and Mervyn King respectively. Gerwyn in a rich vein of form having won the Gibraltar (feeling homesick) Open by whitewashing Mensur Sulovitch in the final. Not often a top player fails to win a single game in a final, so Gerwyn must have been on fire.

The Welsh lads are both through to the semis. Jonny got a hard fought win against Ratajski by 3 sets to 2 and Gerwyn beat Chizzy 3-0. Both Price and Chisnall had terrible off nights and any other decent player would have taken either of them on those performances. Gerwyn was totally pissed off by the crowd and, during his post match interview on stage, referred to them as being rubbish and pathetic. Went down a treat did that!! :ROFLMAO: But he got his own back saying that they could boo him as much as they want but he still keeps winning. And fair play to him, he seems to have cleaned up his act a great deal these days, is a far more amenable character and doesn't deserve the abuse he keeps getting. But he really shut them up tonight by winning when he was only playing at no more than 70% of his best. Mind you, he'll have to play a lot better to reach the final let alone win the thing.

It's an all Welsh final then in the World Grand Prix of Darts. Jonny played really well and blitzed Danny Noppert 4-1 although I missed the game because I was watching Wales play football. The pundits reckoned he was brilliant and their favourite to beat Gerwyn although the bookies disagree. I caught the last knockings of Gerwyn's game after he was losing 0-2 to Stephen Bunting. Gerwyn rallied however and reeled off 4 sets on the bounce to go through 4-2 and he really raised his game to do it. Should be a great final but I wouldn't like to call the winner. Jonny is the form player this week but he tends to go into his shell when he plays Gerwyn, so it could go either way.

Brilliant final won by Jonny 5-1. Gerwyn wasn't at his best but would have struggled to hang on even if he had been. The game was played in good humour and spirit throughout. Jonny had finishes of 170, 164, 152, 110 and won the game with a 116 out. The first two big finishes saw Gerwyn about to check out himself and snatched the sets from him. In the third set Gerwyn averaged over 115 and LOST it!!! Just a superb game of darts and they did us proud and Gerwyn was great in defeat. Had to laugh when the commentator said, "if there are any young Welsh darts players aspiring to play for Wales in the World Cup, good luck with that." :ROFLMAO:

Jonny Clayton is at it again winning the World Series of Darts last Sunday, his fourth televised title this year. After being 2-7 and 4-8 down to Gerwyn Price he rallied to win 10-9 in a truly memorable game by both players. He went on to beat MVG 11-6 in the semis and won £70k by beating Dmitri van den Bergh by the same score in the final. Most of the experts and pundits rate him as the best player in the world currently and favourite to win the World Championship later this year. From what I've seen I wouldn't bet against it because Jonny is red hot at the moment. Doing Wales proud!!

Just watched a brilliant game in the Grand Slam of Darts. Fallon Sherrock was 1-3 down to Gabriel Clemens and fought back to win 5-3 She checked out with a 141 in the penultimate leg and won the match with a 170 finish. She was just superb and now plays Mensur Suljovich whom she has beaten in a previous competition. Fallon's scoring was also excellent hitting the trip 20 virtually every throw and getting some 180s along the way. Fantastic performance by her and a huge well done!!

Good darts again tonight. Gerwyn Price was taken all the way by World Junior champion Bradley Brooks and squeaked through 10-8. Gezzy was his usual self, roaring out loud when he hit something good. But young Brooks wasn't intimidated by this and did some roaring of his own when he matched Gezzy. The crowd loved it! And, as usual, they were giving Gezzy a lot of grief which was really undeserved.

Jonny Clayton was also playing a youngster in Nathan Rafferty from Ireland but breezed through 10-2 with a totally professional display. He and Gezzy meet in the next round and, given their present form, has to be favourite to win. By his own admission Gezzy isn't playing well and if anyone wants to beat Jonny these days, they have to be throwing near their best. It's all boiling up nicely with many of the big-hitters still in including MVG who averaged over 115 in his last match. Good stuff!!

Really looking forward to Fallon Sherrock playing Mensur Suljovich tonight. Pundits' talk is that Menur hasn't been the same player since Fallon beat him in the World Championship last year and there are two schools of thought about this game. Firstly, Mensur will be itching to take his revenge and the second is that he will be very, very nervous about being beaten again. Mensur should win but too close to call if Fallon maintains her good form.

She done him again! And it was no fluke. She outscored Mensur with more 100+s, more 140+s and three 180s to nil. Her doubles % was also higher and she won 10-5 after being 0-2 down. Just a brilliant performance and she's now in the quarters. With some top players still in the competition this may be as far as she goes but she's been nothing less than superb.

Gezzy goes through beating Jonny 16-12. The game was a lot closer than the score suggests and both players threw some excellent darts with 21 maximums in the game. Fallon might go out tonight as she's playing Peter 'Snakebite' Wright. If he finds his form he'll win but he's not been playing well, so Fallon will have a chance if he falters.

Fallon Sherrock just fell short tonight beaten by world #2 Peter Wright but what a game she played! I'm in awe!! The score was 16-13 but it was nip and tuck all the way with Wright averaging about 100 and Fallon about 99. I think the longer distance just beat her and Snakebite had to play near his best to come out on top.

Look at the scoring: 100+ PW 27 FS 43 140+ PW 22 FS 22 180 PW 12 FS 8. Fallon was really incredible and several of the games could easily have gone her way with, for instance, Wrighty nailing a 120 finish whilst Fallon was ready to double out. Just a great game.

In the other game Michael Smith shocked a well in form MVG 16-13 and plays Wrighty tomorrow with Gezzy taking on James Wade, a guy who can be irriatble at the best of times, so I'm wondering how he'll respond to Gezzy's histrionics. 😲 :ROFLMAO: The Final will also be played tomorrow. Can't wait!!

Gezzy beats Wade 16-9 to make his third Slam final. He plays Peter Wright who beat Michael Smith 16-12 after being 8-12 down. Bound to be full of confidence after that, so the final could go either way.

Gezzy wins his third Grand Slam beating an out of sorts Peter Wright by 16-8. He averaged well over 100 and fully deserved his win. And full marks to Wrighty who was a total gentleman in defeat. Come to that, so was James Wade. Good to see!! Well done, lads. (y)

WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP. Gezzy wins his first game 3-1 against Richie Edhouse but it was a lot closer than the score suggests. Edhouse took the first set 3-0 and Gezzy couldn't buy a double missing all six of his attempts. Edhouse was finishing like a train (game over all 77%) and was 2-0 up in the second set. But Gezzy eventually found some form and saw the game out with an average of 101+. It was a narrow squeak though and he'll have to play a lot better to beat the top guys later on.

Terrific darts tonight. Steve "Bronze Adonis" Beaton beat Fallon Sherrock 3-2 but only after a hard struggle where Fallon took him all the way. Comms reckoned that was the best Steve had played in a long time and that he must have been putting in the practise big time (to avoid losing to a woman?). :)

Jonny Clayton got through as well in a fantastic game edging out 19 year old Keane Barry of Ireland, also 3-2. This was a hell of a game!! Jonny won the first set then fell 1-2 behind to an inspired Barry. He was in real danger of going out but put in 2 amazing sets, averaging 114+ in each of them to go through with an overall average of 103.7, the highest in the championship so far.

Noteworthy that, in between missed doubles, both players had five 100 (+) outs making TEN in all, which set a new record in a best of five sets match, the previous record being seven. All in all congratulations to both players for a brilliant watch.

Gerwyn marches on winning 4-1 but Jonny went out on a tie-break to Bully Boy Smith in a great game. Jonny left several good chances to win out there after being 2-0 up in sets. This was a tremendous game that had everything, the comms saying it was worthy of being the final. Noteworthy was that it was played in great spirit with both players applauding each other's good darts. Good to see and Bully will play Gerwyn next in what should be another fantastic game.

Some players are out because of failed Covid tests and MVG was one of them. It will make winning the title easier for someone but still a shame.

Saw an incredible quarter final tonight. Peter Wright just scraped past Callan Rydz, a Geordie, in a tie break after being behind for much of the game. 28 180s in the game, 17 of them to Wrighty. But make no mistake Rydz is a future world champion. He has a machine gun delivery and his darts hit the board bang bang bang. Exciting player. The crowd was disgusting booing Scotsman Wright at every opportunity and cheering whenever he missed.

The booing will now be aimed at Gezzie who's about to play Michael 'Bully Boy' Smith. He'll have to be at his best to beat Smith or he'll be going out tonight. Fingers crossed Gezzie does it.
