Trust Statement on Trevor Birch
Trevor Birch

Dear.....

The Supporters’ Trust were disappointed to learn that Trevor Birch is leaving his role as Club Chairman. Over his tenure, the Trust has developed a significantly improved working relationship with the club’s management team to ensure the best interests of the Club, Fans and the Trust were looked after.
This is a particularly frustrating turn of events as the Trust has repeatedly warned of the challenges that our club will be facing over the coming months. To lose the chairman at this time, and the speed with which it has happened, is obviously unhelpful.
It is clearly critical, particularly in the current climate, that a new Chairman is appointed as soon as possible and that someone is appointed who has the skills to meet the challenges that our club is going to face in the coming months. We have stressed this point to the majority owners and we are aware that progress is being made in that regard. In the meantime, the Trust will be directly liaising with the club’s management team to ensure the best interests of the fans and the club are served during this period.

He doesn't seem to stay at one club for very long. Who is going to fill his shoes. I'd love to find out which decisions and players he was behind. Who we tried to get and missed.

Would be surprised to see another Chairman with his credentials.

Jake Silverstein has stepped in as the Chairman. The one who 'invested' in the club. I don't know if this is temporary I would think so. I would hope so!

???:unsure: LadyGG tells me it's a guy called Julian Winter, ex Huddersfield.

perhaps we can get Harry Kane on loan now :sneaky:
Carter Vickers again?

Lots of Hudderfield fans don't like Winter. We'll see.

Looks like Cooper has said players are leaving after Newport match. We would be in a bad spot if they sell Ayew, Grimes and Rodon.

We are short in the CB position especially if we are going with 3+2 as the standard system. We've been playing Jamal Lowe as a co-forward in pre-season.

I'm expecting the likes of McKay to be moved on. He hasn't had a chance in preseason. We haven't seen Byers, but I expect that he is still recovering from injury. If we are looking for another forward then that doesn't say anything positive about Asoro.

I'd like to see Peterson given an extended run so he could build his confidence and along with proper match fitness. He's strong, quick and can beat a man with trickery, a quality that's much needed at any level of football. Cooper doesn't seem to like him but I've seen enough in cameos to make me believe he could be a real asset if his potential is unleashed. That's part of a manager's job, so over to you Mr Cooper, unleash it!!

Yes, I like Peterson , very direct and purposeful , unfortunately in his first two starts he gave the ball away coming out of defence and we conceded a goal on both occasions , Cooper dumped him after that .

I saw McKay and Declan John were both told to move on.

John can play as a wing back ... better than Rushesha. We have 4 FB/WB - Bidwell, Roberts, Naughton, John.

McKay is a useful player, on his day as good as Celina or Dhanda.

This season is compressed by 5 weeks. A good cup run in both cups is going to give us a ton of mid-week matches. Fatigue, injuries and suspensions are going to cripple us if we have to start playing the likes of Rushesha who is clearly not ready for prime time yet. And this is not accounting for bad attitudes, which is probably what kept Celina on the bench for most of last season.

Andy Pandy recognizes that we are shy a CB and forward, which indicates to me that he doesn't have much value in Asoro.

Brewster had his penalty saved in the Charity Shield, a cruel thing to happen, which lost 'Pool the match. If Klopp takes that the wrong way, and he has to make a choice between one player or another, then the kid could be heading out on loan again.

Cooper says "We lost 11 players at the end of last season ,so we had too get players in for numbers more than anything else"
sounds a bit of a brash statement . "For numbers more than anything else" are we going to end up with bench warmers rocketing the wages bill, when we have to move Ayew on to decrease the wage bill.
