Martin must be reading our forum .... in his post-match for the cup-tie, Martin actually used the phrase "there are no round pegs playing square holes". (3:40). We've been barking about that for months and months.

And we also "need more options up the top end of the pitch" (3:55) ... No shit. He had Flex and was reticent to use him.

Read his comments about Fulton. Did he never watch any video of the Cooper season when he arrived? Was he so blinkered by his arrogance that he couldn't notice what we knew and we've been stating all along. It boggles the mind that for most of last season he had Fulton pinned to the bench or sometimes sitting in the stands.

Martin argues that Flynn Downes did so well that he kept Fulton out of the side. The same Downes that's now been riding the bench this season at West Ham at 23 ... whereas Fulton was starting in the Prem at a much younger age.

"Martin was especially keen to praise the impact of Allen who brought energy and combativeness to his side, and the trio were effective again in the Swans' dominant first-half display at Bristol City in the FA Cup."

And as long as Allen was on the pitch we looked great. When he was taken out we looked like crap.

Allen provides four things: technique, movement, vision and surprisingly muscle. He never bottles a 50-50, and through technique almost always emerges with the ball. Puts everyone else to shame … only Fulton approaches the same willingness to apply himself physically.
