Angel's Dream Team

We'll all have our ideas about this but for me I'd have to have Fab in goal; Ben Davies at LB instead of Tate and already I think that Rodon is a better CB than Monk. Ki at his best was a great player but I'd have to have the tenacity and consistency of Joe Allen in his place. Dyer RW? No quarrel but Routs has an equal shout and Pablo at his best would be difficult to leave out as he could play those killer balls. So based on Angel's choices, I'd go for:

Fab. Rangel Williams Rodon Davies

Leon Joe Gylfi

Sinclair Pablo/Routs/Dyer

Michu

Pains me to omit a Bony at his best from this team but he'd be a hell of a sub to bring on and wreak havoc. Angel's team:

Anybody that puts Monk in an all time XI needs to sober up.

From the last 10 years I would go with:

Vorm,

Roberts, Chico, Williams, Davies

Leon Grimes

Pablo Ki James

Michu

I know I'm going to get pelted for Ki.

If you're selecting players based on their peak performance only I could see putting in Ki (but then again Shelvey might beat him out) but for ongoing consistency of high level performance it's a totally different matter -- first on that team sheet would be Ash and Leon. Here's my XI:
Fabianski
Roberts Chico Williams Davies
Routledge Britton Allen Sinclair
Sigurdsson
Bony

What a plonker I am !! Totally forgot about Chico, so he would replace Rodon who shouldn't have been in anyway as he never played with Rangel. That's why I didn't select Dan James as neither did he. I think Rangel was only picking players that he played with. Which brings me to another glaring omission in Ferre Bodde. I know he never played at the top level for us but he was so gifted I'd have to find room for him maybe even at the expense of Joe. His long range passing was superb; he was always a danger with his long shots and he'd certainly add some steel to midfield. :)

Very easy to overlook a lot of talent in those days Ivor, as you say Chico, Bodde, surprisingly Pablo didn't get a mention either .

Angel didn't mention him but Yankee and I did. Although Pablo seems to have made more of an impact with Leeds than he did with us. Perhaps the lower level suits him but then he is that much older now.

Looking at all the omissions you guys have highlighted, Angel's dream second XI would be pretty special too. Re Pablo, he'd never win a head to head with Scotty , perhaps because he was playing with Taylor Mk II.

Yankee, I liked your post especially for the comment about Monk! :) Good team but you can't have Roberts, Grimes and James because they never played with Angel.

Angel was in the squad last season as was Roberts. Same with Grimes; he was around with Rangel too. Now did they play in the same games as him ??? Roberts would have displaced Rangel last season. Grimes may have played in cup matches with Rangel.

You're right about James. So sub in Sinclair.
