Trips we were being fobbed of by reports he was out seeking investments.all long long before the sale
Yes.

When do you think negotiations to sell the club to the yanks began? It has to be prior to Jenkins's trips across the pond.
In 2014 or 2015.

I guess he made those trips to do some preliminary enquiries about potential investors and talk to them. When he finally had a list of the potential investors then the club had to make a due dilligence. And so on. That's a process that requires time, but to claim that the yanks already in February 2014 forced the club to sack Laudrup is a bit of a conspiracy theory.

Why would anyone, even for clashing of ego's want to sack the goose thats laying the golden eggs.
The goose was not laying the golden eggs in the Premier League anymore. Morgan, Jenkins & co. didn't care about the Europa League and FA Cup, only about our survival in the Premier League. They did their math. You got more money for the club in the Premier League and without a cup trophy than for a club in the Championship with a cup trophy.

Taking your correction as 2014 then your dates are coming more into line with mine:D
We were also around that time talking to some Chinese who i believe now own Prem club Wolves. Probably no brown envelope promises from them.

My take is that is was an internal club matter, and nothing to do with business per se more on a more delicate matter ... as proposed above that implies some acumen on the parties involved.

Reading today that we have slapped an £18 million fee on Ayew which, if true, will deter many would-be buyers. Might this be an indication that the owners do intend to take a serious shot at promotion? We can but hope!!

Other news is that Graham Potter is lining up a £10 million bid for Bersant Celina. If Celina continues to perform the way he did yesterday, no way do we want that. The new signings, with their obvious ability, make his job that much easier and he might well have his wish to play in the Premier League with us if we can build on yesterday's promising display. :)

Saw these as well, My guess is that they will sell Andrew for £13.5. Would be one of the worst moves in awhile and that's saying a lot. We could afford to lose Celina with Gallagher this season but what about next season? I think he will still improve and Potter will be able to help him. I would hate to see Ayew go but I have a bad feeling they're already negotiating a deal.

Nothing would be surprising with this ownership. Has anyone noticed how quiet Birch our chairman has gone?, all the talk of regular fan update on his appointment.

silence is never good during the transfer window, we've seen it before. All it will take is a club to wave a £ figure in their faces and they'll sell him. 2 weeks to go I hope someone has the sense to reject any offers for Ayew now. Don't put it all on the youngsters shoulders now.
