A hypothetical question

Imagine the British (or any other goverment) let terrorists from all over the world cross freely the border every day. Imagine these terrorists carried out bomb attacks across the country killing many and injuring even more people.

What would you say?

Would you want the incompetent government to step down immediately or would you praise the government for making sure that all people had helmets?

50.000 new cases every day. Has this so called Delta variant (Indian variant) come from outer space? Who is responsible for letting it cross the border? Why is nobody asking these questions?

Delta is taking the US by storm ... among the unvaccinated. This happens to be, predominantly, a demographic mindlessly following a particular political party that is advocating all sorts of conspiracy theories that basically lead the unsophisticated to refuse to be vaccinated. It also happens that this demographic is predominantly: rural, white, obese and poor. In red states, non-whites cluster into metro areas and are smarter than the average white bear ... they also have all of their teeth.

In the last week, in Connecticut a relatively well vax'd state, we had an uptick on daily positive from 0.5% to over 1.3%. It's the delta variant running through the smattering of the demographic described that we have here ... not exactly rural in the same sense as say Arkansas and Tennessee but just as stupid.

Since travel has picked up the delta variant moves like the wind and once it sets it proliferates through a household then the neighborhood then the greater community like a wild fire. It is more contagious. It's incidence among the vaccinated is low and largely asymptomatic - although the transmissibility from a vaccinated person to others is largely unknown.

This is the second phase of what has, and is going to remain, a natural selection event ... and we haven't even hit the end of summer yet.

I heard from a Pfizer person over the weekend that: in the US, a booster is scheduled for Oct and already paid for. Annual boosters are likely to be required. The technological platform of the Covid 19 vaccine has proved so successful that it is going to be applied to a wide variety of existing vaccinations protocols (e.g. flu, shingles).

And vaccinated. More than 60% of all hospitalised in Israel are people who have been fully vaccinated.
According to the Israeli Ministry of Health registry, by the end of April 2021, a total of 397 fully vaccinated patients were hospitalized with the severe acute respiratory syndrome SARS-CoV-2 after their second vaccine dose – with 234 of them suffering severe COVID-19 and 90 of them succumbing to the disease.
I don't know the numbers for Britain and other countries, but it wouldn't surprise me if the numbers were the same.

Vaccines don't protect many people from being infected with this new variant, but let's hope they protect the vast majority from hospitalisation and death. It seems that a vaccinated person can spread the virus as much as those who have not been vaccinated.

Knowing that there is a high number of crazy anti-vaxxers and people who are for good reasons vaccine-sceptics, our epidemiologists and politicians should have predicted that a lot of people would be refusing vaccines and the consequences of a such refusal. They should have predicted new virus variants, a possible spread of these, and the risk that these variants could render mass vaccination futile.

We can't blame anti-vaxxers and vaccine-sceptics for the obvious incompentence of our epidemiologists and politicians. I repeat, this new delta variant has not come from outer space. Someone, who had been infected with it, has, at some point, crossed the border, and spread the deasese in the community. And now we are playing catch-me-if-you-can game with this virus.

We don't need "epidemiologists" who are trying to "control" the virus and "dance" with it. We don't need "epidemiologists" who are waving with their statistical models and smart power-point presentations in front of TV cameras. We don't need their half-hearted restrictions, measures and lockdowns. What we need is real epidemiologists who know how to prevent pandemics and who know how to implement strict border control so the virus, or its mutations, can not be imported from abroad.

This is the third time the British government repeat the same huge mistake, but on the other hand Britain has had a success with the mass vaccination. Covid vaccines had shown an excellent efficacy against Wuhan and British coronavirus variants, the number of infections and deaths had been in a free fall as well....up until this Delta variant started to spread rapidly. For the families of some (young) people, who have died (we don't know the real numbers) from Covid vaccines, the mass vaccination has been a nightmare. Astra-Zeneca was forbidden first in Denmark, and then in the other Scandinavian countries, as early as in March 2021. Johnson & Johnson as well. Soon, many other countries have followed and restricted the use of these two vaccines. Also mRNA vaccines have some nasty side effects mostly affecting young males (miocarditis and pericarditis). People die from Covid vaccines, and still nobody knows what the long term side effects of these vaccines will be. The vast majority of us have accepted to be a part of what one of the EU bureaucrats cynically (and proudly!) called 'The largest medical experiment in the human history'. We have accepted to get vaccinated with vaccines that are approved for emergency use only, well knowing that Pfizer/BioNTech, Moderna, Astra-Zeneca, Johnson & Jouhnson etc. have all been granted protection from future product liability, which means they won't be paying for any claims for damages in case of side effects if something goes wrong with their vaccines. Pharmaceutical companies typically aren’t offered much liability protection under the law, but this time they are. In the US you also can’t sue the Food and Drug Administration for authorizing a vaccine for emergency use, nor can you hold your employer accountable if they mandate inoculation as a condition of employment. Congress created a fund specifically to help cover lost wages and out-of-pocket medical expenses for people who have been irreparably harmed by a “covered countermeasure,” such as a vaccine. But it is difficult to use and rarely pays. Attorneys say it has compensated less than 6% of the claims filed in the last decade.

Why am I so angry? Because we have accepted all the risks from the vaccines and endured harsh lockdowns in order to prevent this nasty desease to spread, and at the same time our governments treat us like shit by letting more infectuous coronavirus variants cross the borders and putting all OUR efforts in jeopardy.

You can take a horse to water but you can’t make it drink. In the old Wild West you’d put the horse down. Can’t do that with those who are sophistication challenged and refuse to battle through the delusion to act in their best interest never mind everybody else’s. Epidemiologists can’t be expected to deal with the complexity of the virus and the stupidity of their own politicians and people that they can’t control. The best they can do is produce a highly effective vaccine, in as short a time as possible, and based in the best data possible, and communicate it all transparently. Communicating protocols to political leaders without the common sense and backbone to implement them coherently and completely is all they can do.

the Pfizer vaccine is not brand new but the mechanism has been under development and refinement for over a decade. It is a partnership with some organization in Germany. Applying the C19 rna fragment to the platform is a new application. People die from vaccines of various stripes all the time; it’s not subject to much scrutiny in the media as it doesn’t sell advertising.
