4 Days to go.

4 days to go to the end of the transfer window. Once again we've contributed more than our fair share to star players leaving. Hopefully things will remain as they are in the coming days, as I feel this squad is capable of results, but yet again results will have the yanks rubbing their hands again come the January window.

Now reading that we might be in for 25 year old striker Isaac Vassell (cousin of Darius) of Birmingham City for circa £3 million. Vassell has a career strike rate of about 1 in 4 so he is hardly prolific but suffered badly with injuries throughout his career including a recent ACL which sidelined him for 14 months. Hard to find a goal scoring rhythm with so much disruption tbh.

Harry Rednapp signed him for Brum and was impressed by the 5ft 7" striker saying: "He's got the ability to be a real player, no doubt about that. I've been really excited by what I've seen of him. He's powerful, he's strong and that pace is just electric....... he's got this terrible habit, when he loses the ball he chases and tries to get it back. It's terrible isn't it? :)LOL:)........ I said to him, 'whatever you do, don't stop doing that.' That's a big part of his game." (I'm guessing that this gels perfectly with what Cooper expects from his team).

Vassall has been rated as a player of huge potential but, due to circumstance, has so far failed to fulfil it. However, IF he comes to us I have no doubt that Cooper and his staff would have a real talent to work with.

£3m for a player who has barely kicked the ball in the past two years? Have we not learnt anything from Bony (and Montero) saga? We should take him on loan with option to buy.

Aye, but I'm sure we could tailor a deal to take account of the circumstances. Bony was older and Vassell seems far more of an all round athlete. Montero played in fits and starts which seemed to take a particular toll of his Latino physiology :D. If the deal can be sensibly structured it could well be worth a gamble.
