I'd also like to see Peterson up top with Ayew or Cullen. He could be very effective there - ala Scott Sinclair - and any defensive liabilities would be minimized.

BTW - Borini maybe without a club - contract expires on Monday

We're signing players, who could have predicted it. I don't know much about any of them but getting Guehi back on loan is massive. A fit Rodon, Bidwell, Cabango, Guehi, Naughton is a good group.

Apparently the first 60 minutes were a slaughter - 7-0

I wonder what bunch of donkeys played in that period

Second 60 was different - Fulton scored on a rebound off the post from a Robert's shot.

Can't wait to see the video on this .... and of course there's nothing on the Club's website.

This is the sort of score line that we should have produced against all that non-league and lower league fodder we have routinely played in pre-seasons' past .... but we never did.

Soton on the hand, go to town.

2 goals were penalty shots. Woodman got burned today. And they want to sell Rodon, this is what will happen if we lose him. Where will goals come from if we sell Ayew too. Hope Gibbs-White can produce. Glad I didn't watch this one.

The difference between an average Premier League side and what we've become. :( Let's hope this was just a warm up to allow the lads to settle in. If they were really trying then, boy, will we have problems this season. At least Cooper and his charges know there's a lot of work to do if we're going to do something worthwhile in the league.

The Saints are a good side, and this game was just a warm-up pre-season game. So, I wouldn't put too much on it. I doubt Rushesha, Lewis and two Coopers will be in Steve Cooper's plans for the next season. During pre-season all clubs give their youngsters a chance to show what they can but that doesn't mean these youngsters will become first squad players just because they've got some minutes on the pitch in a couple of pre-season games.

I haven’t seen enough of Benda to compare, but Woody is not the keeper that is going run an overly young back line, he’s not going to command his box, and he’s not going to win us games and earn us points by, from time to time, stopping the “unstoppable”. Yesterday the stoppable flew past him. Do they really shoot that much harder in the Prem? I don’t think so.

I would be embarrassed if I allowed 5 goals past me like that ...throw away the penalties. The first he froze on the edge of the 6 yard box. Two were near post. One was side foot. Does he not see the ball? He just appears to assume a position and freeze, with no ability to react thereafter. I just looked it up ... He is 6’2 yet plays like he’s a titch. Looking at the video I would never believe he was that tall.

With a young back line we need a keeper with a voice and experience that can direct and give confidence to the defenders.
