What an incredible final!! In a race to 18 (win by two clear) Gary Anderson beat Mensur Suljovic 21-19 after Mensur trailed 13-17. The standard of darts was fantastic and Mensur lost after having an average of 104.43 to 101.12, He well outscored Gary on the 100+, 140+ and they each notched 14 180s!! And Mensur's doubles % was 37 against 36. And he still LOST! That said, Gary needed a Bull finish to win the title, hit it but had a bounce out (one of 3 at critical times).

Neither man deserved to lose but what outstanding entertainment they served up. Well done both. :)

Put this video on this thread as it is darts related - Mark Williams throwing in a 9 dart challenge competition with other snooker players. He's pretty damned good!! :)

Been thinking about this. Mark's score would have been good enough to win the Bronze Bully on Bullseye a few times competing against experienced pros.

MVG lost in second round at euro masters (10-7) last night to Steve West .
I'd never heard of him either ! ( but I know who he is now )

Williams showed more consistency with his darts than he has with his cue of late !

Aye, that was a shock. Caught some of the early play. MVG fell behind then pulled it back and then I thought he'd go on to win. Didn't see the end as I had other things to do. As for Mark, he looked a player but he's the sort of guy who relies on natural flair to do whatever he does and he often doesn't put in the practice that he should. His friends have said as much and he admits it. Had he the dedication of a Steve Davis or Higgins I reckon he'd have won a couple more World titles plus some other majors.

Gerwyn Price upset all the odds and beat Gary Anderson in the final of the Eric Bristow Champion of Champions tournament tonight but he's done himself no favours - apart from the £110,000 winner's cheque of course. This was his first 'Major' title but he did use some questionable tactics to get under Gary's skin. There was plenty of argy-bargy going on, mainly from Price, and there was minor physical contact at one stage when he backed into Gary who angrily pushed him away. No love lost there for sure.

The crowd got on Gerwyn's back booing him loudly throughout and they bood even louder when he won. Gerwyn basically said that he didn't give a toss, that it only fired him up to try harder and Gary never even shook his hand at the end obviously livid about the whole thing. The Ally Pally World Championship is going to be well worth watching for sure just to see if Gerwyn carries on with his pantomime villain act.

Reminded me a bit of Alan Evans V Eric Bristow !

I met Eric and he said it was all an act , to add a bit of spice for the cameras !

Don't think the iceman was acting though , bang out of order in my book !

Yes, he overcooked it for sure. Gary Anderson is a decent guy and didn't deserve that sort of treatment. I accept that Gerwyn was pumped up and had a point to prove but there are limits and he exceeded them. There's a world of difference to being something of a character and acting the way that Gerwyn did for sure. I hope he reins it in a bit in future.

Well at least Gerwyn didn't resort to physical contact or threatening behaviour against Gary. Adrian Lewis, however, doesn't mind a bit of aggro and this game nearly came to blows. Lewis has previous form as well.

Some incredible darts going on the World's semi-finals. Michael Smith just beat Nathan Aspinall by 6-3 but Aspinall put him under real pressure after a dodgy start. He averaged 100+ to Smith's 105+. The game had everything with high scoring and incredible finishes. There were 30 180s with Smith notching a semi record of 17. Great to watch and well done to Aspinall for a superb effort.

Right now MVG is 4-0 up against Gary Anderson. I suspect that Anderson's bad back is giving him problems.
