Will the Canaries be singing at 5.00pm ?

Comms saying that Swansea totally dominating second half but cannot turn their superiority into goals. Makes sense to Martin then to leave our most natural finisher on the bench. Just reminding everyone that that's not just my opinion; that it's the view held by Messrs Curtis, Trundle, Cameron Toshack and Leon. Of course Martin believes he knows better than all of them. Fool!!

Sixth game in a row without a win. This must be the worst run of form of all teams in the Championship.

Clearly a misuse of resources. Watching what’s going it’s pretty obvious that players are on the wrong side of the field (flex), are not offering anything (piroe), and I see no point in playing a back 4 with two LBs on the left side when somebody like Flex is on the bench.

but, wtf do I know

More than Martin for sure! This is a man who is too rigid; too stubborn; too blinkered and too arrogant to listen to anyone's opinion other than his own. He persists in picking his pets despite the fact they are woefully out of form. He persists in playing them out of position to shoehorn them into the team. He persists in ignoring the claims of other decent players who could impact a game because he doesn't 'fancy' them. He persists in sticking to a game-plan even when it's obvious to the rest of the world that it's not working.

I get the argument that he sees the whole squad in training on a daily basis and that many of his decisions are based on that. But, you know what? Many of these players just dog it in training because they know that, no matter how much effort they put in, no matter how well they perform, he won't give them a decent run in the team to establish themselves. Why would you knock yourself out when you know it will lead to absolutely nothing? He has utterly demotivated some of his squad to the point they don't even consider putting in the effort - which gives him an excuse not to play them. Catch 22 on a grand scale and it's symptomatic of weak man management.

Some time ago I came to the conclusion that Martin has taken this group of players as far as he can. Someone else is needed to kick on and add that vital 10/15% that he can't. Had we decent investing owners then this situation could easily be rectified but we don't so we're stuck with him.

I'd laugh if it wasn't so serious but Martin was explaining why certain players didn't even make the bench. He went on to say that one reason was that he wanted 'Culls' there as a striking option then pointedly ignored him even though Piroe continued to fire blanks! How must Cullen feel when he sees a striker really struggling to score yet his manager rarely gives him a chance? Even when he is called upon it's usually very late on and when we're chasing the game. For how long is Martin going to persevere with his pet Piroe when he isn't delivering? Cullen has NEVER been given this luxury, Mr Martin, and it's about fcuking time he was. Swallow your pride, admit you're wrong and act like a proper manager for pity's sake. Some stats:

POSSESSION: 65-35 SHOTS: 17-5 OT: 7-2 PASSES: 630-348 TOUCHES IN OPPO BOX: 30-11 CORNERS: 7-4 FOULS: 9-13 GOALS: 0-1

With those stats any decent team should have won this game. THIRTY touches in the box - I reckon if Cullen had started he'd have gobbled something up because THAT'S WHAT HE DOES!!!!! But he rarely gets the opportunity because Martin won't play him. Wake up, man, your blinkered thinking is like a dead-weight anchor on our progress.

We are running in circles and no real progress can be seen on the pitch. We all know the opposition will press us high, our defenders will make a suicidal backward pass, and we'll concede first. Then we'll create a couple of chances our attackers will miss, and that's it. Everything is so predictable and boring.

There are only 7 points between us and Wigan who are virtually in the relegation places (WBA have 2 games in hand), and we should start the fight for survival imho. We can forget play-off places as long as Martin is our manager, and the best we can hope for is 10th - 12th place, more realistically the places between 15th and 20th.

What happened or what did Martin do following the excellent run of results in October? Did other clubs adjust to the inclusion of Cooper and Cundle and the additional energy they provided? Did the replacement of Obafemi by Piroe or the #8 role with Piroe scew things up?

The lame performance in the final third on the Scottish tour has carried forward and clearly shows that nothing material was accomplished in the 3 to 4 week layoff. If anything it has gotten worse.

In many respects this resembles Cooper's first season. He arrived. The team had a tremendous August. The international break came and went and it all went to shit.

As @CroJack said, we had now better start working to stay safe ... because we're not working to get promoted. If somebody asked me what or how do we play ... what's our system and shape? I couldn't explain it. There is no set formulation. Every match there's some small but material difference to the previous game.

As it stands we are above middle on points, but have a below middle (negative) goal difference. We're shipping more than we're scoring. Promotion is not happening. The goal difference indicates we will finish in the bottom half of the table.
