From Luke Williams:
"I am frustrated that we didn't turn really good actions into goals. When you create 19 chances and at least four of them are in the six-yard box, there's not an excuse to not win the game.
"What is that's wrong with those chances? For me, nothing. It's just concentration, finish the action correctly and we'll win the game of football.
Well, Luke, I'll tell you what was wrong - it was YOU who left our best finisher on the bench. YOU and no one else. Exactly what is it about you and certain other managers? Do you wear blinkers so you see only what you want to see? Do you wear ear plugs to block out the pleas for you to play Liam Cullen where he's supposed to play? Even when you, yourself, have admitted that you play him out of position. Do you not listen to the comments of the seasoned, experienced ex players who time and time again say that Cullen is our most natural finisher? If I've heard and read that, surely you must have as well? You're the coach; it's your job to be aware of these things even if they might conflict with your own view.
Or are you so arrogant that you insist that you are right and all these other people are wrong?. Managers/coaches are often wrong; very often in fact. Take Whittaker, for example, the player who stole our points today; the player who's scored more goals than anyone at our club in another club not too different to ours in terms of league position. The player who many are touting to become a £15/20 million striker if he carries on his good form. How many of our 'genius' managers didn't rate him? Were you amongst those in the background who wanted shot of him? I don't know but given how you mis-use Cullen, I have to wonder. Some stats from a game we could have won with the right striker up front:
POSSESSION: 71-29 SHOTS: 19-9 OT: 4-3 CORNERS: 8-2 FOULS: 12-14 GOALS: SWEET FA-1
Four on target from 19 shots. Seems to me you need a good finisher. I wonder where you can get one from?
