WHERE WILL WE FINISH?

We are deemed 28/1 shots for promotion along with Cardiff. As for a top 6 finish we are quoted with Bristol City as 5/1 behind Fulham 1/33, Brentford 1/25, Forest 2/7, Preston 11/8, Millwall 13/8 with Blackburn and Cardiff at fours. Bearing in mind that previous form will count for very little because of the disruption, I've taken a guess at the possible results of our remaining games as follows:

BORO (A) 1 point

LUTON (H) 3

MILLWALL (A) 0

WEDS (H) 3

BRUM (A) 1

LEEDS (H) 3 Hoping they'll have been promoted and will take their foot off the gas.

FOREST (A) 1

BRISTOL (H) 3

READING (A) 3

That will give us 18 points to add to the 53 we've already got making a total for the season of 71 points. Will it be enough for the playoffs? I'd hope so but have a feeling that we'll just miss out in 7th or 8th. :( If we're in with a chance going into the last game I've gone for a win at Reading as the lads should be going balls out for the points. Anyway, what do you guys think?

This forecasting by these so called experts is a farce, if they were any good at what they do,then they wouldn't be doing it, as they'd be multi-millionaire pools winners.

It depends on talent and coaching. We have the talent. We don't have the coaching.

We may lose our starting keeper and our loanees. But, we have talent ... raw but talent on board and in our U-23 program. Other clubs are in varying degrees of compromise. So it's going to become a crap shoot.

This will be one interesting finish if all goes as planned. There are lots of factors like who is fit and ready to play with all this time off. Millwall away won't be the same without fans in attendance, none of these matches will. Coaching of course. Which players are going to stay under contract and play and which clubs will suffer a loss of talent.

Swansea came out of the gates strong last August, maybe they can. There is certainly opportunity for a midtable club to rise and a top table club to falter. Will be good for the pundits.

I don’t know where we are with players out of contract this month end.
take Kyle Naughton.
Should he take the opportunity to play and impress his next employer, or duck out for fear of picking up a career ending injury?
As I understand it, they don’t get wages from July 1, just severance pay, which they’re entitled to anyway.

EFL pass new rule on out-of-contract Championship stars in boost to clubs like Charlton

EFL is making a rule change to not allow any Championship player who's contract is up to play for another club. It won't stop out of contract players from not playing at all. They are also allowing clubs to offer short term contracts up until June 23. Anyone not signed for the duration by then will not be playing in July.

Preston in disarray as positive Covid-19 test posted after first contact session

Worse news is Preston has at least 1 unnamed player with the Coronavirus. EFL is allowing the team doctors to decide if players will train. The 14 day track and trace does not apply to footballers. PNE is currently 6th for the final playoff spot and 1 of 5 teams above Swansea on the table. This could be a devastating restart for some and a miracle for others.

Woodman has positive words about his loan here. Why shouldn't he he's our starting keeper and has been solid. His penalty saving skills could win a playoff match if it ever came to penalty kicks. The best move we could make is signing him from Newcastle.

No chance! Other clubs have noted his progress and would easily outbid us for his signature if he became available. :( Now if the owners had put the money they promised into the club.......

I doubt it as well, even with Dubravka Newcastle would be foolish to part ways with him. Dubravka is 31. If the Americans were smart they would make an offer for him because he won't get any cheaper. Only if.

He doesn't command his 6 yard box, too easily beaten at near post and does a good Gary Sprake impression as he stands still and watches long shots fly into his net . He is nowhere near the standard required for the premier league .
He is ok for a young keeper but there are better keepers out there.
That's a fair assessment but when I think about the alternatives where would we be. I think he's going to have a good career.

Comparing Nordfeldt, Mulder and Woodman ... each with their own strengths and weaknesses ... net/net, who was better?

Mulder and Benda are both better than Woodman... If they were given a long run of games. Woodman is ok but is not improving.

You forgot one important thing. He doesn't make himself bigger when he is one-on-one with opposition attackers or when he faces long range shots. And if you ask me that's a huge problem.
