What's bugging you right now?

Not actually a bug, but what I thought was a bird flew into my apartment last night.and landed on top of the fridge/freezer unit. got on a stool to investigate, and was amazed to see a huge grasshopper/cricket staring back at me.I thought I need to capture this to measure it, threw a tea towel over it and got it. It measured almost four and a half inches. I've heard the loud noise they make in the trees at dusk, now I know why.

Saw huge crickets in South Africa and Spain. Funniest thing I saw though was in my mate's house where their cat saw a hefty praying mantis in the kitchen. They ended up squaring up to each other on top of the kitchen window pelmet. The cat was 20 times the size of the mantis and kept flicking a paw at it. But the mantis was standing its ground and trying to take on the cat! And the whole thing was played out with their shadows on wall and ceiling. It was like one of those duelling scenes in a castle from Robin Hood or similar and funny as hell. The mantis survived by the way. But to see one of those things on a wall in your house and clearing it of bugs and flies, was an education. Wouldn't mind a pet mantis in my place during this hot weather!!

I hate horseflies - I’ve been in hospital twice because of reacting to the buggers biting me

But be fair, to them a married couple can range from two, to anything up to Seven or eight.
