Flight delayed until 12.30 last night probably didn’t help either especially as they were probably still tired after the Ireland game

A match best forgotten as Wales went down to their fifth defeat in nine games under Giggs. Albania scraped only their second win of 2018 from the same nine games with a soft penalty, and were fresh from being hammered 0-4 by Scotland on the same ground a few days before.
Disappointing debut from James. In contrast Rabbi Matondo (Man City, on loan at FC Twente), in the short time he was on, looked a tricky player on the wing with some darting runs and had a much better debut.

Would have looked so much better had Vokes converted a great cross from Dan. That would have given Dan and the whole team a lot of confidence and the game could have been a lot different to how it turned out. As it was we created a number of chances and should have had a definite penalty awarded. It should also be remembered that Giggs had far from his best team starting and gave some youngsters a chance to show what they could do and gain valuable experience. Had this been a competitive game I think the result would have been very different but it's a shame that Dan didn't shine as we'd have all liked.

Rodon should have been called up for that match. It's nice to be nostalgic, but frankly we need to giving Rodon et al the experience and forging a disciplined squad with a sense of mission.
