Terrific team performance. Good to see Connor get a well taken goal in addition to a good all round showing. All the youngsters showed they could play which augurs well for the future of Welsh football. Remember there's also the likes of Woodburn and Wilson waiting in the wings and if Joe Rodon continues to impress this season, he could well be joining them. And James Chester never even got a game!!

But the player who stood out above all others for me was Ethan Ampadu. For a lad of just 17 his ability and composure was incredible to see. This young man is going to become a top, top star in the near future.

It seems that Giggs got rid of Coleman's 3-5-2/5-3-2 and used 4-2-3-1 with attacking full-backs. What was your impression @ivoralljack ? More attacking setup?

I remember Coleman used to play Ben Davies as one of the back three and Niel Taylor as wing-back .

Yes, CJ, definitely more attacking set-up with Ampadu the glue at DM. Not only did he play that role almost to perfection, he was the catalyst for a number of attacks and his winning of the ball before putting Ramsey in for his goal with a beautifully weighted pass was top class. Then he was to be found in his own penalty area showing the strength, composure and experience of someone twice his age to clear the ball. As I said, this young man has the footballing world at his feet and Chelsea had better start giving him games because, if they don't, other top clubs will be scrambling for his signature.

Bale, Ramsey (his awful mistake apart), and Allen all showed the class we know they have but David Brooks also had an exciting game and looks to be a great prospect. Lawrence took his goal brilliantly and Roberts, the Leeds striker, showed glimpses of his ability as well. Connor Roberts looked completely at home at this level and scored an excellent goal. In fact, no one had a bad game and the team played with a freedom and attacking intent that was a pleasure to watch. And don't forget that we have the likes of Ben Woodburn and Harry Wilson, both tremendous talented prospects, challenging to come into this team.

As for Chris Coleman, I've never been much impressed with him and I'm not being wise after the event. I've often stated my reservations about him in the past and felt that his reputation was built primarily on Gareth Bale's sensational ability to produce a worldie when we were getting nowhere fast. Ramsey and Allen did their bit in support but as for the rest, well they were just there to make up the numbers: and Coleman never looked like getting his team close to the fluency and attacking intent that we saw last night. Just not in his skill set or mentality and one of the reasons why my voice was one of the loudest in saying that he should never manage the Swans despite being a local lad. Mind you, I don't deny that he seems to be a nice guy and was well liked by his team.

But lets not get too carried away by this result. This was a depleted and poor ROI team and we were playing at home. Denmark will prove a far sterner test but if we can replicate our form of last night and get a result then I will finally believe that we have a national team that could develop into a world class outfit within a few years. Hope I'm still around to enjoy the ride.

Think Giggs needs to start lining up an Ash Williams replacement, I was surprised how much slower he's got since leaving us.

Chester is probably as good now and it's only a matter of time before Joe Rodon steps up if he learns his lessons and gains experience.

Today’s match against Denmark sees a number of things:
  • No williams -not just on the bench but no longer in the squad - dropped, injured, “retired” or rested
  • Bale is captain
  • Connor starts again
Massive Welsh attendance at the match .... singing the anthem like a home match.

Spark missing this evening. Not the fluency or accuracy of the last game. Tougher opponents of course but we're letting them dictate the play. Maybe we need some more craft in midfield. Joe and Ramsey aren't quite at it and perhaps one of Brooks or Woodburn might add more spark to help them. Our crosses aren't coming to much against a robust defence and I wonder if we might not see Vokes up there battling to allow Bale some freedom to play off him. If they score next we'll probably lose, so we can't be too gung-ho in chasing the game. But we've got options.

Disappointing but predictable. Denmark far better opponents than Ireland, deserved to win and we really didn't turn up. Ramsey and Allen tried but in terms of affecting the game, they were very poor and outplayed by their counterparts. There was no spark and we seemed to have trouble in stringing a few passes together with basic mistakes happening all over the shop. Ridiculous that with a talent like Bale in the team, we struggled to set him up with even one decent chance.

Unlike the freedom we offered Eriksen, Bale was tightly marked and could never get in the game. Memo to Giggs: if the other team have an obvious game winner, don't stand off him and allow him to play. Just watch the video and see how Denmark handled Bale and compare that with the armchair ride that Eriksen was allowed by our ineffectual midfield.

In fairness, because of the players 'strike' the Danes didn't have to play a game a few days ago as we did, so they were fresh whilst we looked leggy. But that doesn't excuse our poor passing and sloppy execution of basic skills. Still, it was good experience for our young lads and, providing they learned the lessons out there tonight, they can kick on and improve. But the most important lesson is that they have to be right at the top of their game at international level, otherwise the quality of good teams will punish them as happened in this game.
