Original compositions from the land of the Bard they can be witty, funny, poignant or sad but they must be yours.

Here’s mine:

The liberty is not the place
The way it used to be
They took us up then tore us down
No future here for me.

Upon a time; cwm level park
Where all time greats have played
With jumpers for posts and “get home for tea”
Back in those halcyon days.

The double decker and North Bank
Stood welcoming and proud
To welcome teams from 1912
As home to the jostling crowd

Dark dawns we knew and troubled times
When our club ran out of luck
From antipodes a chancer came
To steal an easy quick buck

A jack, a king a fan or foe
They All queued round the block
To chip in what they could afford
To save the Swans proud flock

Then through Divisions from the Vetch
Those mighty Swans did soar
Into the English Premier League
Oh how those Jacks did roar

Of two or three the heroes were who turned the club around
To take us from our flower field to a shiny bright new ground.

But dark times did as dark times do came back to claim their hand
Our once proud fortress we then learned had foundations of sand

So sold we were without demure across the ocean wide
And down the Tawe we saw float our hopes our dreams our pride

But never fear the greatest tale; as yet remains untold; of how the jacks rose up as one; to see their birthright sold;

By hook by claw by wit and force those Jacks all stood together
and took back that which once was theirs
But this time it’s forever.🖤🖤🖤

That is superb!!(y) Excellent prose @Ladygargar and I appreciate it all the more because, even though I'm a writer, poetry is something that is well beyond my ability. Great stuff and well done. Says it all. :)
