Why not, we've let James Fer and Montero go. Need someone to fill the holes.
My problem is this. We are a lightweight team in a physical league, particularly in midfield, and we already have the likes of Byers, Grimes, Celina, Dhanda etc. Surely we need a bit of muscle to replace Fer? Also, Dan has gone, Montero going, so that leaves us with Routs, Dyer and McKay out wide and none of them are quick. We do need to recruit but we need some hard-bitten experience to supplement the youngsters. Bodies for the sake of it won't do us any good and I'm concerned that all we'll be doing is giving another club's youngster experience at the expense of our own promotion hopes.

But we did pretty well for a lightweight team last season?

I wouldn't say we are so lightweight in the midfield. Grimes and Fulton made significantly more tackles last season than Fer, and Byers is only sligtly behind Fer when it comes to tackles.

Fer comitted most fouls last leason but knowing how vulnerable we are at set-pieces I prefer clean tackles more than fouls.

One of Cooper's big decisions is how and where to use Grimes. His best position is on the field ... where and in what role has to be decided. He is without question one of our very best players and so far he has stayed below the radar of Prem clubs, but I can't believe that's going to last. Sooner or later some club is going to come and dangle a check with a really big number on it.

Once Grimes' use is determined, the other players can then be selected to compliment.

It's incredible none of the Premier League clubs has made an offer for Grimes yet. Good for us.

Personally I always preferred to foul but then I was exposed to the mantra of the infamous Ducks (Yankee knows ) :ROFLMAO: Legend has it that he returned from one particularly nasty away game with a badly bruised leg................. we never did find out who it belonged to!

I have no problem with fouls....in the opposition half.

I understand what you are saying @ivoralljack , but the lack of fouling and physicality is not the reason we lost so many points last season. Our two clowns of goalkeepers and bad defending (especially set-pieces) is what we need to sort out.

My post was a bit tongue in cheek, CJ, and, although I do like some physicality in a team, I accept that it has to be controlled. :)
