Swansea v Northampton

It’s a League Cup tie against a club in the bottom half of L2. By the book, a game we should win going away, but blood, guts and desire can turn a game inside out. Who will start tonight? Will Murder or Nothing start in goal or will Cooper give Woodman another start to solidify his confidence and adjust to the squad.

It would be good to see Wilmot, Surridge, AK and Peterson get a run out. However, depending on where Ayew is on fitness and he may also start or be on the bench, Routs needs game time to see him at his best.

Due to rights restrictions, the match is not being seen anywhere except at the stadium. Nice move by the competition ... ESPN+ is showing Salford v Leeds on a stream. I guess they haven’t figured out yet that it’s possible to stream multiple matches at the same time. I’m sure I’m not going to be watching that game.

We are resting a ton of players. Ayew is on the bench. Wilmot starts alongside Cabango.

The young kid from U-23 Rushesha is on the bench.

Interesting selection and it'll be good to see how this team performs. I'm particularly hoping to see Ayew get a run out and what he makes of this level of football.

Based on the commentary:

Carabango is a tank and is seeing a lot of play.

I haven't heard Wilmot's name ... is he out there

Peterson is have no truck with the Northampton defenders

McKay is involved but suffering from inferior final touch

Not playing well so far?
Hi, Mith, welcome and good to see you here again. Listening to Radio Wales and Ian Walsh is not impressed. He says we are playing like the second string side we are, disjointed with little quality. Doesn't speak well for those aspiring to make the first team any time soon. If we don't make the 90 minutes count then it's straight to the lottery of penalties and we could go out to a very lowly Northampton side. We need to buck our ideas up.

Hey Ivor, good to be back, I hope you've been well.

Looks like things are getting worse...have to try to get one back now.

And predictably we fall behind!! Ayew on instead of Peterson and we need to show a LOT more urgency. Ayew cheered on.
