Ref missed two penalties today. The foul against a Roberts towards the end of the first half. The push on the back of Borja just prior to Naughton’s goal.
The ref gave Birmingham the benefit of almost every doubt yesterday - there was pushing and shoving on both sides to be fair. First half saw Dhanda being dragged by the neck of his shirt at one point so he maybe thought what’s good for the goose is good for the Dhanda 🤣🤣🤣🤣

But he was wrong......

Didn't we look good? I know they were clips showing the best of our performance but, hell, there was some mighty fine football being played there. It was fast paced, accurate and played with a tempo and rhythm that Brum couldn't get near. There were great performances from a number of players but I was really liking the contribution Ayew was making. What a quality player and, I repeat again what I and everyone else on this forum has been saying, that we really do have an excellent chance of at least a top 4 place if he and Borja stay with us: and I hope that Trevor Birch is hammering home this point to the owners. Look past the short term gain in moving them on and set your sights on the very realistic chance to hit the jackpot by returning to the Premier League.

Borja seems more than happy to give it a go, he's playing with confidence and a smile on his face. But, as for Ayew, I hope he's not getting a wanderlust when he sees his brother starting to do well with Palace in the PL. There's every chance that Andre can be there too with us and it's worth his while giving it a season to find out. Well done, lads, on a great performance. Every one of you!

Postscript: What happened to the encroaching rule at penalty kicks? There were 4 Brum players clearly encroaching; Connor was just about guilty and Ayew had every chance of reaching the net before the ball!! Not that I'm complaining mind because we scored but it emphasises the appalling standard of refereeing at this level.

Post postscript: Just noted the very pleasing fact that we are the highest goalscorers in the Championship! (11) :) Perhaps Leeds had better start figuring out how to stop us rather than the other way round. Mind you, on our part I'm hoping that Cooper has recognised the threat that Pablo poses and is working on a plan to stop him. Undoubtedly he's the guy that makes them tick. Stop him and Leeds will struggle to create.

Yes, and we are one of the four teams that hasn't conceded from a set piece yet. Also, only one out of four goals we have conceded this season was a 'clean' shot. We have conceded two goals from deflected shots (I'm sure Woodman would've saved both) and one goal from a questionable penalty.

Andre may well go but I would be actually sad about it. He's been nothing but professional since coming back and I seriously believe that if we keep both Borja and Andre we'll be a top 6 team. Lose one and we may only hit top 10; the rewards for the risk are incredible and it would take absolute cowards to give in to Werder Bremen, Lazio et al who want Ayew on loan with subsidized wages.

Yes, agreed Ian, hopefully the money orientated yanks will see the long term possibilities of wealth this season. This squad has promise,to weaken it in any shape or form would be a disaster,it would appear they think our academy is a bottomless pit, capable of constantly churning out saleable talent to satisfy their greed. We are where we are,not because of them, but in spite of them. Not once in their term of ownership have they made a financial gesture to enhance the clubs future. Hopefully a successful season would interest a buyer, but I'm sure, as I think we all are, if we were promoted then the leaches would remain to drain the rewards.

I hear what you say @IanABS94 and @Jackflash but I think/hope Trevor Birch is the difference between times past and now - with Jenkins at the helm we were always on the brink of catastrophe and building a towering financial disaster that not many knew the extent of - I don’t know the man, but we do (tentatively) seem to be in a better place with Mr Birch in place - I hear good things from lots of avenues about our chairman; so that’s a huge positive.

I wish the owners would now enter into positive dialogue with the trust and those whose shares were wiped by the purchase, then we would know for sure that things were getting better; nobody should profit from the hard earned savings of minnow investors - like stealing candy from a baby - and they need to put that right.

But I digress (as usual lol) I’m not sure if Ayew will stay or go, he’s always one bump away from season long injury imho - he took a knock to his back on Sunday; moreover his contribution hasn’t always been reliable - far from it, but to pay even half his wages and see him go elsewhere when he could do so much good with us would be properly bonkers - we’d still be owing £40K a week to subsidise someone else’s club....might as well bite the bullet and keep him; at least until January - then if he’s earned his stripes ship him to a club that wants to buy him; I say this as he’s a depreciating asset, as time goes on he will be worth a lot less in wages than his agent scored for him; and we’ve had enough of those journeymen to last us several seasons

I have watched quite a lot of Ayew's games with Fenerbahce in local bars out here and along with lots of Fenerbahce supporters,he was held in very high esteem. His work rate in his last game was equal to his first, 100%. Agreed he seemed very accident prone in his previous time with us,but I find it hard to recall if he ever missed a game due to injury, (maybe the occasional one). out here.
I'm a firm believer that a player unknowingly gives his extra effort if the team is doing well, his playing confidence is on a high, and I think we are beginning to witness this with this squad.
PS. gonna stick my neck out and say they're going to bring the three points home from Elland Road.

If we keep Pablo on a tight leash then we have a good chance. But lose him and we lose the game.
Pablo must be kept on a tight leash and fouled whenever it's possible. (sorry Pablo, but you are Leeds player now). It's going to be Grimes and our left-back's duty to do that. Also, when he has the ball we have to anticipate his defence-splitting passes. Easier said than done, but possible.
