I hear what you say
@IanABS94 and
@Jackflash but I think/hope Trevor Birch is the difference between times past and now - with Jenkins at the helm we were always on the brink of catastrophe and building a towering financial disaster that not many knew the extent of - I don’t know the man, but we do (tentatively) seem to be in a better place with Mr Birch in place - I hear good things from lots of avenues about our chairman; so that’s a huge positive.
I wish the owners would now enter into positive dialogue with the trust and those whose shares were wiped by the purchase, then we would know for sure that things were getting better; nobody should profit from the hard earned savings of minnow investors - like stealing candy from a baby - and they need to put that right.
But I digress (as usual lol) I’m not sure if Ayew will stay or go, he’s always one bump away from season long injury imho - he took a knock to his back on Sunday; moreover his contribution hasn’t always been reliable - far from it, but to pay even half his wages and see him go elsewhere when he could do so much good with us would be properly bonkers - we’d still be owing £40K a week to subsidise someone else’s club....might as well bite the bullet and keep him; at least until January - then if he’s earned his stripes ship him to a club that wants to buy him; I say this as he’s a depreciating asset, as time goes on he will be worth a lot less in wages than his agent scored for him; and we’ve had enough of those journeymen to last us several seasons
