Swans v Scum

They're a far more physical side compared to us, we need to get our passing game together, and get some major improvement in our final third play,a need for some physicality from ourselves in this dept. Not going to be an easy game, they'll want to win this one more than any.

Play to our best and we win. Play like we did against Stoke and the second half against Reading and there's going to be some glum faces on here. Not least mine.

I would say this whomever we were playing next. We've got to play the lil, ole, but gooduns who get what this match means to us and indeed the entire City.

As things stand we're in for a good hiding unless we find some form out of literally nowhere. Cardiff will overpower and out-muscle us because we are a physically weak team but we now are nowhere near a good enough side to 'football' our way to a win. In fact, from what I've seen of both teams recently, Cardiff are the more likely to play the better football. And they have an Ace in the hole in Warnock. Love him or loathe him, he can buy and sell Cooper 7 days a week in terms of experience, tactical nous and motivational ability. Right now I see only one winner and the very thought makes my stomach churn. I just hope that Leon and Curt will school Cooper in exactly how much this game means to the fans and the City and that Cooper will demand, not ask, but fcuking DEMAND that the pitiful performances of recent times are not repeated in this of all games.

I am full of foreboding for Sunday and girding myself for defeat and humiliation. The Shit Streak continued against Brentford and I saw nothing dynamic being done, I saw lethargy or was it apathy and a lack of technical focus.

I have never felt this way before. Even when Laudrup was fired I felt that Monk didn’t have time to fuck it up against Cardiff ... it took a little longer. Cooper has now had several weeks of converting invincibility into dire straights. He’s making a stellar effort at it. I dread to think what lineup this tactical t#$t will produce against Cardiff and I shudder to think what their manager is preparing to shove down our throats.

I think it’s time to bring back Curt, while we still have a season to resurrect.

I don't think the majority of the faithful are looking at this result with any great enthusiasm after the Brentford game, I think common sense tells you that this game is top in the fans eyes. Any game plan against Cardiff should surely have been worth a run out against Brentford. Cooper must surely take some advise on this one,or throw the game plan open to Curt & Leon, both warriors in this dept., doesn't need to be done publicly but Cooper could do worse than take back seat in this one.

Swans TV is preempted in North America according to a posting in the Club’s web site.

ESPN+ is carrying the game direct from Sky. This is a streaming subscription service. I watch it through the ESPN app on Amazon Fire TV.

Cooper has apparently reached out to a number of people ... including Rogers =>Steve Cooper reveals Swansea City greats have aided derby preparations | Swansea

Not sure what I think about this. Smart move or Last Resort because he doesn't have the chops to handle it himself. Is he feeling the pressure of the match or his job? This is not something Laudrup would feel the need to do. This is something that Monk out of hubris would never do. This is ... fill in the blank.

I watched Leicester beat Southampton 9-0 tonight and, as I watched, I couldn't help but compare us to Southampton who were slow, sloppy, disorganised and couldn't find a pass to save their lives....... just like us recently. I hope that Cooper has taken on board all the advice he's been seeking and hammered it into his players else we will be the ones getting hammered.

@ivoralljack ... you are as you practice, that’s the only way you can be. It’s not reasonable to expect players to practice a certain way then play to a different level and way in a match. This team didn’t show up one day and with the intent to be poor. This evaporation of style, system and substance can only be due to the way they practice, what they practice, and the demands of quality and focus placed on them day after day. There’s only one root cause for this. Cooper is not suddenly going to learn a new tune. He’s doing what he’s been doing with kids for the last few years. What we’re seeing now is what happens when you train seniors like kids.

Terrified about tomorrow. I can only see a Cardiff win...We've be horrendous since Charlton (even including it for large parts). Cooper is losing it a bit.

@ivoralljack ... remember what you posted maybe a dozen years ago after watching training and seeing the balls-out intensity, border-line violence, of Painter and Pintado going in for a 50-50 ball. The level of intensity you witnessed in training is what we’re not seeing in matches.

Aye, remember it well. It was at Llandarcy and I was right behind the goalmouth where it happened, a matter of just a few yards away. Pintado wanted afters but Painter, who was quite a handful himself, wasn't too keen. And you're right enough, I saw more intensity in that little dust up than I've seen from the Swans all season. :(
