I know it's too early but this looks good
Might have to catch Reading match tomorrow afternoon. Really crucial 3 points today, those home draws aren't going to put Swansea into a playoff spot. Byers and Borja really saving the day. I saw Ayew playing good defense today. 3 minutes into extra time he chased Maguire into the corner for that last corner kick. He played a big role in the winning goal when he cut in and found Bidwell who got it to Borja. I hope Dyer and Kalulu are alright but this team has some depth on the bench. I like Byers, 2 big goals in 2 games.

I have to mention Bidwell. A lot of our play went through him (had most possession of all our players) and he can cross the ball. AK didn't help him much in the first half, so he was under lot of pressure. It helped a lot when Celina was moved to the left flank.

Yeah it seemed like Bidwell was involved in almost every attacking play.

Kalulu was supposed to be on the wing but he played way too narrow and gave us no width. Boswell has the first touch of a rhino. He was dreadful , apart from a few crosses. Jo Rodon was a liability constantly giving the ball away and passing behind his target not to or in front of him. Celina was great for the last 39 mins or so. I would have pulled him at half time. Yes we won, but we were lucky. Preston were stronger than us and passed better than us. They stopped van der horn getting the ball, this destroyed our usual passing patterns.
Verdict...lucky Swans snatch a win.
It looks like a long winter to me. Dyer had a hammy go in his left leg after about 10 mins.
Borja Byers and Ayew all did well.Grimes was quiet. The ref was awful. Words fail me how he missed so many fouls and allowed Preston to cheat and time waste the whole game.

Roberts definitely gave away a pen.... 3 seconds before MVDH was taken out by a Preston cheat, which the ref ignored. Var would have given a free kick to us.

I guess you mean Bidwell. I must disagree mate. He was by far our best player in the first half. He made 7 clearances (other defenders 2 each), and some of them were crucial; he blocked 3 crosses (he didn't allow a single cross past him, Roberts allowed all); he made 2 last man tackles, and he didn't have a single bad touch in the first half. So, your rhino must be a good defender. ;)

But I haven't seen the replay of the second half yet, so I'll be back with my assessment of Bidwell's play in the second half.

Disagree again. Instead of "lucky Swans snatch a win" it should say "sloppy Swans almost gifted a win to Preston".

Far from our best 90 minutes and distinctly second best for the first 45 against what could politely be described as a 'robust' Preston team. But what character and resilience the lads showed in the second period to grab all three points. Read a great deal about this game this morning and the media seem pretty unanimous that Borja and Ayew, with a big nod to VdH, were far and away our standout performers.

This tells me a lot and I hope it's doing the same to Trevor Birch and the decision makers. Sure, offloading the big earners would ease our financial woes but, if we had owners with bottle and foresight, wouldn't the prospect of regaining Premier League status with its attendant riches, be an even more attractive proposition? And, imo, this is no pipedream! With Borja and Ayew playing the way they can, personally I don't think there's a team in this division that we need fear. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that most of the other teams would fear US. And I would be really confident that we would have as good a shout at promotion as anyone else. Better than most in fact. Some stats from yesterday, which tbh, do not make for great reading other than the last one. The one that matters!
