Swans v. Luton

I think we played pretty well today and certainly didn't deserve to lose. Should be more clinical in front of opposition goal.

According to the comms Luton could have got two and we had one good chance. Luton sound like the more dangerous team. Is that so?
Didn't seem like it, they had a few chances with counters. We had the possession once again, but couldn't get a shot on target. We seem to be playing a slightly faster tempo.

I didn't see it but the commentators certainly did and, believe me, they were not impressed!! The feeling was that we were stale, lacked endeavour with Andy Robinson adding that we definitely lacked quality - well we all know we lack quality! The comms added that the fans are now losing patience, the patience that would be evident had we been making progress. But we are not.

Frankly, if our owners weren't so fcuking tight Russell Martin's job would now be under threat. But it's not because said owners would never find the cash to pay off Martin and his staff. Blackburn are next up and they are chasing promotion, so I don't rate our chances too much. I said earlier that we might be happy with a draw tonight and, unfortunately, I was proved right. Had Derby and Reading not been docked points we'd be even more in the mire and I'm wondering what Martin's excuses will sound like for this defeat. Were we too tired? Or were we undercooked? It's all wearing thin now.

They are talking rubbish. We were much, much better than in our previous six games. 22 crosses compared to 7 against QPR for example. We had 3 big chances and we hit woodwork once. We had 16 shots. 12 out of 17 dribbles were successful. 48 duels won to Luton's 29. There was much more speed and movement in our play tonight then in many other games this season. But Andy Robbinson is right that we lacked quality. Of course we lack quality.

I guess football, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder. I can't argue your viewpoint any more than I can theirs as I didn't see the game. But one thing is sure: chances. shots and duels won are all very well but where the hell are the GOALS? Where the hell are the POINTS? We lost the game playing at home and it looks like our players need a compass to tell them where the bloody net is!! I gave RM a season to get his ideas across and I stand by that but he is trying my patience. We are losing games because he will not pick an attacking side when everyone else can see that that's what is needed. Let's see how we go against Blackburn. Let's see if any lessons have been learned.

They'll come. We've been unlucky so far with the results and are short something like 12 points. Our forwards can't score at the moment, and the opposition scores against us from almost every shot on target. This unbalance in the results won't last. I just hope Martin will continue to play 4 at the back because there was a clear improvement in our play.

To some extent yes. But even with this side full of defenders we should be doing better in front of goal.
