The Yanks themselves brought all this to bear on the club. They employed Birch as chairman, certainly not for his footballing experience, but for his past experiences in selling clubs, but Birch then shit in his own nest by bringing in Cooper, who's made the club pretty much unsalable. Now we're stuck with the pair of tossers.

Not got much going for us have we - shit owners, shit CEO and a shit manager. :( They should all be ashamed of what they're doing to our club.

I'm afraid of what happens next season. If they don't get promoted what happens to Ayew and Van der Hoorn. Rodon. If the owners sell off the players who are keeping us from dropping down to League 1 action must be taken. That cannot happen again.

I was shocked to see people defending Cooper for keeping is high on the table. We have the talent to be a playoff club. It's time for a new manager and it's not too soon. They could let him go today.

What people was this, KV? Reading the fans' comments following articles of the game in the newspapers, Cooper was absolutely SLAUGHTERED as I said previously. I didn't read so much as one single comment in praise of him. The man is not up to the job and we need him GONE.

Some on Twitter. Jordan was one, I like his posts usually. He's pretty active on there. Probably playing devils advocate tbf. Last season after 39 games were 14th under Potter. But I think with the squad we have now Potter would be much higher. Numbsrs don't tell the whole story. Twitter is garbage though.

If I was Birch or the owners I would get rid of him now and hope a fresh change can motivate them to win out. I don't want to lose Ayew or VdH next season.

Opinion: Prem signings and a false league position have masked the stench of a stale season at Swansea City

The article is spot on.

"No matter Swansea’s league position, many outsiders will look at Cooper’s maiden term in senior management as something of a success. Replacing one of the nation’s best up and coming managers and keeping them in and around the top-six throughout. But the fact is that Cooper hasn’t made his own imprint on this side – he could leave tomorrow and there’d be nothing to say he was ever there.

Swansea play without an identity. They play without presence and especially so at home. If it wasn’t for individuals picking them up points throughout the season then the true downpour of Cooper’s season would be at the fore. Don’t read into league positions, and divulge in Premier League signings – Swansea are a club heading backwards."

On identity:

1. Are we a top team when it comes to slick passing? No. Last season we were in the top two for both possession and passing accuracy. This season we are not among the top five in the Championship.

2. Are we an attacking team? No. We are 8. for shots per game and 10. for shots on target per game.

3. Are we a high pressing team? No. We press sporadically and we rarelly chase the ball in packs.

4. Are we a nasty team? No. We are 14. for tackles per game and 23. for fouls per game.

5. Are we an adventurous team? No. We are 18. for dribbles per game.

6. Are we a counter-attacking team? No. We are joint 14. for goals scored from counter-attacks. Actually, we are the suckers who have, together with Bristol, conceded most goals from counter-attacks.

7. Are we a team who dominates other teams? No. We are 17. for time spent in the opposition third.

8. Are we good at scoring from set-pieces? No. We are 17. for goals scored from set pieces. As far as I remember we haven't scored a single goal this season from a free-kick.

The only thing we are good at this season is defending set pieces. We are the second best. And that's it.

I wonder if that is why Trevor Birch has all but disappeared off the face of the earth given that he rubber-stamped this coaching nonentity becoming our manager. Most Swan's fans would have made a better job of selecting the manager. Trouble is, most people in football think they know far more about the game than the fans. All too often they do NOT.

Trevor Birch, actually what sort of an asset is he to the club as chairman? He is vice chairman of Duff & Phelps Global Restructuring Advisory. A company employing 4,000 in 25 countries around the world. One would wonder what ( if any) time he has for little old Swansea in his working week.
He joined us in March 2018. In March 2017 Portsmouth reported they had retained his services..
I checked Wikipedia to see what other fingers he had in what pies, one of the replies was "This section needs additional citations for verifications."
Since his arrival failed to keep Potter, or maybe he already had thoughts on Cooper,as other more than adequate applicants were brushed aside.
Yet another 'yes' man to the owners.

We're 1st in worst owners. Actually I'm not sure Hull would say the same.

2nd best in set piece defending because we don't give up a lot of fouls to begin with right. That's at least an improvement over last season.

I do believe we have the talent. It's there we just needed the right man to lead them. If we had Dan James we would be fighting for top of the table.
