There's a party of them over to see a couple of games and it's good to see that the Boro game didn't disappoint. A warm welcome to them all. @Ladygargar took two of them under her wing by meeting them at the station, taking them to their hotel then back to hers before a mini sightseeing tour of Mumbles and the Gower. On Friday night we then went out for dinner but I couldn't make the game on Saturday. However, I did join in again yesterday, picked up Mathew and his mum Diane and went to LadyGG's. From there we all went again to the Gower taking in Oxwich, Port Eynon, Horton and Rhossili grabbing some fish and chips and rissole on the way before finishing off with a cream tea at Rhossili. Luckily the weather was decent as well.

Then we went back to LadyGG's and had drinks and a sumptious dinner (let me tell you, that lady can really cook!!) with her family. Coincidentally, it was Diane's birthday so we all signed a card and LadyGG provided a cake with candles following which we all sang 'Happy Birthday'. Then came a fabulous surprise! LadyGG did some karaoke and sang 'You've got a Friend' to them and it was really good. Then an even bigger surprise!! With a little help from everyone who joined in, Mathew took centre stage and was persuaded to sing 'Calon Lan' in Welsh and did it very well. Fair play. Oh, and as a bonus GG's dad, who used to sing with Morriston Orpheus, gave a really nice rendition of 'O Sole Mio' in Italian! :)

It was such a good evening. Fabulous food, lots of wine (not for me as I was driving), great conversation and company. Shame it had to end but I had to get back for Hector who'd been on his own all day, so I dropped off our new American friends at their hotel on the way. I'd just like to thank LadyGG for going way above the call of duty by giving her/our guests on our behalf a truly fantastic time. Hostess and escort par excellence!!!
