Mark Williams at the age of 49 turned back the clock to win the Players Tour Championship (unofficially known as the 4th Major) beating Ronnie O'Sullivan 10-5 in the final. It was an incredible performance as Williams reeled off 7 frames on the trot after being behind 3-5 at the interval. It was a briiliant feat by Williams as in the first round, on the verge of defeat, he made what was regarded as the greatest clearance in the history of the game to eventually win it. He then went on to defeat the World's numbers 1, 2 and 3 in successive rounds to win the Championship. Not bad for a player who for several years has only practised on a part time basis as he prefers to play golf and follow other pursuits. As O'Sullivan remarked, imagine how many more titles would he have won had he dedicated himself full-time to the sport. As it is he's won 3 World titles in a total of 26 major tournament wins.

Last word for Ronnie O'Sullivan who frequently gets bad press. He was really generous with his praise of Mark taking his defeat with good grace and described Mark as one of the greatest players of all time. Good to see Ronnie in that light.
