This forum usually does not welcome debate on divisive subjects such as politics and religion for good reason. We all have our views and are all entitled to them but tempers can become frayed and debate too heated for comfort. And I have been as guilty as anyone in the past. BUT on this occasion I feel there is very good reason to make an exception.

The great Pat Condell, and I do not use that description lightly, is constantly fighting the corner of the common man and woman. In other words, us. He's an honest and sincere man, someone whose opinion I set great store by and there are few of those in this world, believe me. I've received his message loud and clear and intend to act on it by NOT VOTING FOR ANY OF THE MAJOR POLITICAL PARTIES come election time. But I do not intend to waste my vote either.

I'll nail my colours to the mast here because I think it's important. Love him or hate him, I believe that Nigel Farage is the ONLY politician who is standing up for us against Europe. Take a look at the battles he has on our behalf against the corrupt body of officials in Brussels. There's plenty to see on YouTube. I fully intend to vote for the Brexit Party wherever I can and, where they don't have a candidate, I'll look for a suitable Independent candidate. BUT NEVER AGAIN WILL I EVER VOTE FOR ANY OF THE PRESENT MAJOR POLITICAL PARTIES. They have sold us down the river in their own self interest. They have ignored our wishes brought about by a democratic vote because it didn't suit their agenda - an agenda designed to further THEIR well being, NOT ours!!

I've made up my mind as you will yours but, before you do, take a look at what Pat Condell has to say. He speaks the truth.

I think this forum should be a place where we discuss football and football only. The threads, this one included, with political matters, should be deleted. Otherwise, this forum will become a forum for the Swansea fans who support Brexit and Nigel Farage.

From Forum Etiquette:

'Above all else this is a football forum and not a soapbox for political and religious opinion, so please avoid such subjects other than a passing reference.'

Thanks for your input, CJ. You will know how much I value your opinion and I understand what you say. I thought hard about this then decided to put it up because I think it's of great importance.

Of course, not everyone who posts here supports Brexit, or Farage for that matter, and those who have a different opinion are more than welcome to say so in the interests of fairness. But, ever mindful that the subject is divisive, it was always my intention to allow a 24 hour response period before closing the thread for good. I appreciate that my post constitutes more than a passing reference but one such post in well over 10,000 to date is, I think, a reasonable context in terms of numbers. And, rest assured, the forum will always be moderated to ensure that football will continue to provide more than 90% of its content. We all seem to get along very well here and long may that continue.

I am afraid we won't be able to attract new members if we continue to post threads with political topics. Personally, I don't mind having such threads here as long as the debate is respectful. By the way, how can I transfer some money to you? I'd like to make a monthly contribution.

You are right enough, CJ, which is why they will rarely be found on here in future. And, when they are allowed, any post that doesn't show proper respect will be deleted the moment it's spotted. Actually, this is also a selfish thing. I regard all our regular posters as friends even if, as in your case, we have never even met. I enjoy the friendly debate and atmosphere on here and hope that that will never change. Posters make a forum and I'll settle for quality over quantity every time and I have the utmost regard for ours, although fresh 'voices' are always welcome.

Thank you very much for your kind offer of a donation, which will be most welcome. @jackodiamonds is in charge of the treasury :ROFLMAO: so I would be grateful if you could send him a PM following which he will supply you with the details you need. Thank you again. :)
