Peterson loaned to Utrecht

Don't know what the problem is behind the scenes but there definitely seems to be a problem. Whilst Peterson has nowhere near shown his true potential, he has shown glimpses of the player he could be for us. At his best, imo, he could be a valuable asset but obviously something isn't right and I guess we'll never be told what.

Probably lack of effort in training sessions. I think that's a big blow especially considering rumours that Potter wants to buy Celina and some of the PL clubs have Ayew on their radar.

Very odd and typical Swansea. Bring in a decent player but ruin him. All the best to him but he wasn't getting game time so whatever in all honesty. We have to remove some wages and players on the fringes like him (and Mackay, Dyer and others) need to be shifted to that the likes of Ayew and Celina are more realistic in keeping here.

Cooper doesn't like wingers anyway and with Gallagher now in the middle as well I don't see much game time for any of the out and out wingers.

12 goals and 5 assists in 2018/19 in the Dutch league. In the last decade of all Swansea wingers only Sinclair has scored more goals than Peterson in one season.

Peterson is our best dribbler.

I haven't seen any lack of effort when he played for us.

He didn't have a proper pre-season with us, he has been injured, and has moved to another country and another league. There are many reasons we should have been patient with him. Without doubt he has some useful skills and can score. Liverpool's Fabinho has needed six months to get into Liverpool's starting XI, and now he is one of the best defensive midfielders in the Premier League.

He has never got a proper run of games. At least, we could have used him as an impact sub. Remember Montero?

Some say Peterson hasn't helped much in defence. Well, how many defenders do we need? If we dominated games we wouldn't need to defend so much.

What if Celina gets injured? Who do we have on the left flank? Routs? I know Gallagher can play there, but then we go back to our old ineffective midfield.

Is Celina really that good? Not in my opinion. He needs 23 shots to score one goal. He played 2074 minutes and has 2 assists. Barry McKay played 74 minutes and has 2 assists. Celina only looks good, but he is not good enough. He is wasteful.
