The big 'IF' questions now arise.
If we are fortunate enough to get promoted,
1/ How much of that promotion monies would the yanks re-invest.?
2/ Who would we trust to spend any of that money on players?
3/ Is this manager good enough to take us into the Premiership?
4/ Is this chairman adequate, with all his other commitments. (He may well come out from under his stone now}.

I honestly feel we we've got where we are in spite of his managerial appointment.

Still shaking my head with disbelief this morning :) but I'm loving the feeling. It was great to see the team spirit as the lads celebrated with Steve Cooper and credit him, for a change, with the attacking substitutions that won us the game. Listening to Forest supporters on Talk Sport this morning bemoaning that they started the game with 3 holding midfielders instead of going for it with their usual game. Backfired spectacularly.

The interesting thing is that now we can go at Brentford with our tails up whereas they will be feeling down after missing out on an automatic promotion spot. The mental momentum is definitely with us and we should climb into them from the first whistle to put further doubt in their minds.

If we can get past them,. I honestly have no fears about taking on either Cardiff or Fulham at Wembley because the way we're playing right now, I think we could beat any team in this Division. COYS!!

We can do this. Playoffs are a different game; Brentford have slipped in form and although they are one of the best footballing sides in the Championship it can mean nothing over a two leg tourny style fixture.

We've got game winners in Brewster and Ayew, with VdH back and Guehi looking an absolutely top quality CB at this level we've got parts falling into place. Dare I say Cooper is on to something with the 3-5-2? We've looked good with it lately although not extraordinary; this is Cooper's area as well. Big games and we've got nothing to lose, very few expected us to be here but here we are.

No time to fear any team as it's equal as far as Im concerned. Even if we don't get promotion the experience will be massive for all the players in this squad. There is no time to sit back and let teams come at you; you have to finish them off from August to May. It's not acceptable to allow so many last minute goals. Lesson's learned I hope but for now all eyes on Sunday!

PS: What arseholes in the EFL decide to put the second leg of a playoff fixture on a friggin Wednesday!

I was wondering about that would they have to change the 2 legs to a single match. We can't have a bad game in either.

I hope if we ever got promoted they would sell the club. It's too soon to think about.

Objective #1 on Sunday is not to concede a goal. If we deny them an away goal then we don't necessarily need to win on Wed, just draw 1-1 or better.

Away goals do not count as a tiebreaker. Extra time is played in the second leg if the results are draws, ie 0:0 and 3:3.

Too bad Woodman won't be around for any penalty kicks. Let's hope it doesn't come to that. Mulder will get the job done.

This is a great point. I'd forgotten how Cooper was blooded in coaching by the U17 World Cup. It's also the case that for once his bland demeanour and apparent lack of emotional involvement may serve us well. Along with the likes of Naughton, Routs, Dyer, etc he will keep the younger players down to earth and composed for each game. I reckon we are in with a better chance than our position and results in the final table would indicate.
